Recycle week in preschool 1♻️💙
This week in Preschool 1, we celebrated Recycling Week by introducing a book titled “10 Things to Help Our World.” This book aims to teach children various ways to support our planet. The children eagerly engaged in sorting plastic and cardboard at our in-class recycling centre. In addition, we made some delicious dairy- and egg-free cakes, using this opportunity to discuss allergies and how to keep our friends safe if they have one. We coloured the cakes green and blue to represent our world. The children also participated in rescuing imaginary animals trapped in our ocean by plastic. We demonstrated how to create binoculars from household items, promoting the idea of reducing waste. One of the children’s favourite activities was litter picking. We talked about the importance of keeping our planet clean and provided a hands-on experience that aligned with our curriculum and cultural capital focus. Working together as a team, we took turns cleaning up our back garden, using our strength to collect litter. It was truly fantastic teamwork! Well done, Preschool! We are incredibly proud of all the children and their hard work this week; they are all doing amazingly well in preschool!
