Happy Monday!

Not quite a typical Monday for me just yet... even though my daughter was back at preschool, my son had an Inset day.

I took the morning off for a library, park and cafe trip. So that was my first 1:1 session of term 😆

Later on, I have completed admin, sent resources for the week, checked payments and delivered two 1:1 sessions with year 11s.

Now, to meet a new year 10 student 💻

Happy New Academic year.... who is ready?

Our county start to go back tomorrow... my daughter returns to preschool. My son goes back to school on Tuesday.

Back to it.... looking forward to working with my new students and my returning ones 😀 🤓

Where it all began....

The school where I did my A levels. 24 years ago I was about to start here to study for them 📖 🫣😅

It's where I met my husband properly.. and we started dating during this time. 🥰

And then I started working here in 2009... as a SEND TA.... 1:1 with a lovely year 8 boy 👦 He is now nearly 30.. and I stay in touch with the family 😍. I worked in lots of English lessons for experience too 🖊

Some great friends made here... and so many memories 🏫

And now I come back here every Saturday for my son's swimming lessons 🏊‍♂️

Full circle 🔵 as they say.... (well maybe that will be when my kids end up going here!)

I'm back from a family holiday with three kids 5 and under....

What crazy, fun chaos 😆😆

But I still find time to read... 📖 👌☕️

Any students telling me that haven't had any time to read this summer... sorry, not buying it! 🤣🤣🤣 If I can squeeze it in in between a million "Mummy!"s.... then so can they 😝😅

I'm "out of office" until Monday 7th September now, as I spend the last week of the summer holidays with my family. ❤️

I'll be back on the first day of term (for Derbyshire) and I'll be doing the following :

🏡 Looking forward to my first full week of my new timetable
🖊 Looking through GCSE English Language papers from my resit students
✏️ Planning lessons for later that week
💻 Sending resources for the online lessons
💬 Responding to any emails

I hope everyone has a lovely rest of the Bank Holiday weekend and week ahead 🥰

Another week of summer holidays here! The sibling arguments are frequent... 🙈

This popped up on my memories today.. still the funniest argument my sister and I had!

She was mad at me... probably because I didn't let her play with me and my friend (I'm nearly 5 years older)...😅

So she sent this... lovely, cut-out greeting card saying "Wishing You...."

Then..."would get out of my face!" on the back...

Quite creative for a 5/6-year-old! 😆🤣😆

Makes me laugh every year!

Today a little girl on the next road was having a little sale outside her house 🏠 😍

I remembered doing this as a young child...I also remembered Katie's Tutoring posting about something similar last week ❤️

So, I made sure we stopped.. and my kids both bought a little something 🪙 🐘 📖

It's important to support kids with the little things... and teach your own kids that they become the big things 🥰
