We’re ready to welcome everyone back!

The new school year begins on Monday 7th September 2026, and we cannot wait to see our students return for another exciting and successful year at Granville Academy.

Our Year 7 students should arrive from 8:30am, ready for a 9:00am start. This will give them time to settle in before the rest of the school arrives. Students in Years 8–11 should arrive from 11:00am, ready to begin at 11:20am. The day will start with line-ups and form time, helping everyone reconnect and prepare positively for the year ahead.

Please ensure students arrive fully Ready to Learn, wearing full school uniform and bringing all the equipment they need, including a fully charged iPad. PE kits will not be required on Monday. Our uniform expectations remain unchanged; please refer to the information shared during the holiday if you need to check any requirements.

There have been some exciting developments across the academy during the summer, including a new hall floor, a new conference suite, four additional classrooms in Z Block and improvements to our Support and Guidance and PLC spaces. These investments reflect the continued growth of our school, and we look forward to seeing students benefit from the improved facilities.

Please remember that roadworks and temporary traffic lights outside the academy are causing delays through Woodville. Allow extra time for your journey and, wherever possible, arrange drop-offs and collections away from the immediate area of the roadworks. We have been advised that the work is expected to continue until 6th October 2026.

Our final pre-loved uniform sale will take place on Friday for anyone needing last-minute items. Ready to Learn packs will also be available for just £2.50, which is below cost price.

We are excited to begin another year of learning, achievement and opportunity together. Let’s return ready to Work Hard, Be Kind and Choose Wisely.

Enjoy the final few days of the holiday—we’ll see you on Monday!

A lovely message received from one of our year 11 students who couldn’t make results day yesterday.

“I am very pleased with all of my results - I achieved top grades in all subjects I am planning on taking at A-Level (Engineering, Physics and Biology) and both me and my family are very proud of my results!
For the teaching at Granville, I couldn't imagine better quality support than this school - not only are the teachers highly passionate and skillful professionals, but they also make the lessons engaging, interesting and fun! If I could only pick one teacher to thank, I could never decide - everyone who has taught me and spoken to me throughout Year 10 and 11 has been a pleasure to listen and talk to from my DT teachers, my Science teacher, my Geography teacher, MFL teachers, English teachers, ICT and Art, I thank you and each of these teachers/staff members for giving me the best time possible I could have had at Granville.”

An exceptional achievement for Sam who achieved an incredible 2.4 grades of progress above target grades. Alongside this outstanding progress, Sam achieved four Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and two Level 2 Distinctions. These remarkable results demonstrate just how much Sam has achieved and make him one of the academy's standout success stories.

Good luck in September Sam

The students have done themselves and you proud. The buzz of today has left the school feeling full of warmth, love and care. It was an absolute joy. The individual stories of success, looking different for each and every student, will leave a legacy. This year group will be missed. Another huge congratulations. 🙌
