Our Monkey Club Philosophy
Our aim at Our Monkey Club is to provide a stimulating, motivating, warm and supportive environment for the children in our care and pride ourselves in becoming a favourite place for the children. • To respect and support th

e children within our provision as unique individuals and to provide access to opportunities and experiences that will challenge, stimulate and motivate their personal development.
• To continually evaluate and develop our standards and procedures to ensure we provide a safe and stimulating environment for all the children in the provision of the highest quality.
• To recruit and develop a motivated staff team committed to high quality childcare with access to suitable training and experiences to develop their professional abilities.
• To work in partnership with the school, parents and carers and other professional as an integral part of the child’s network of care.
• To offer a flexible facility that can cater for many individual needs while providing a consistent, stable and warm environment for the child.
• To make sure the children in our care feel cared for, respected and have fun!

🤝💛 The Power of Secure Attachments 💛🤝

At Our Monkey Club, we often see how much children thrive when they feel safe, known, and valued by the adults around them.
Strong, secure relationships sit at the heart of early development, shaping how children explore, learn, and connect with others.
When children feel emotionally secure, they are more likely to step into play with confidence, try new experiences, and build independence at their own pace.

💛 In these relationships, we often notice children:
• Seeking comfort and connection from trusted adults
• Exploring their environment with growing confidence
• Showing resilience when things feel challenging
• Building relationships with peers through shared security

These early bonds provide an important foundation for emotional wellbeing, communication, and lifelong learning.

🌱 In nursery life and at home, it’s often the small, consistent moments that matter most — shared routines, familiar voices, and responsive interactions throughout the day.

💫 Over time, these experiences help children feel grounded, supported, and ready to thrive.

🌞 WEEK 7 - SUMMER SURVIVAL GUIDE

One Week To Go… You’ve Got This 💛 🐒
We’re in the final stretch!

One more week of snacks, chaos, creativity, and the occasional “I’m bored” on repeat… and then we get to welcome all our little monkeys back 💛

And honestly? We can’t wait.

We’ve missed the chatter, the stories, the muddy shoes, the glittery hands, and the incredible things children always come back ready to share.

💛 A LITTLE MONKEY CLUB NOTE TO FAMILIES:
Summer isn’t always easy. It’s long, busy, messy, joyful, exhausting, and everything in between.
So if it feels like you’ve just been “getting through it”… that’s because you have. And you’ve done it in your own way, in your own real life.

You survived. And that matters.

🌈 WE’RE READY FOR:
Big stories about holidays, trips, and adventures ✈️
Reconnecting with friends 💛
Settling back into familiar routines 🐒
And lots of play, learning, and laughter again 🎨

We’re so excited to welcome the children back and hear all about what they’ve been up to.

💛 See you very soon, little monkeys — we’ve missed you!

💜 One more week to go! Tell us... what are your little monkeys most excited about when they come back? We can't wait to hear all about their summer adventures! 🐵🌈

A cardboard box costs nothing.

Yet to a child it can become:
🚀 A rocket
🏰 A castle
🚂 A train
🏪 A shop

And that's exactly why we love open-ended resources.

When children aren't told what something should be, they discover what it could be.

That's where imagination grows.

That's where creativity begins.

📩 Want your child to learn through exploration rather than instruction? We'd love to show you around.

🤔 WHAT IF NURSERY FEES AREN'T WHAT YOU THINK THEY ARE?

One of the most common things we hear from parents is:
💬 "We assumed we couldn't afford it."

But many families are surprised when they discover the support available to them.

Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for funded hours or additional childcare support.

That's why we always encourage families to ask questions rather than make assumptions.

Because sometimes the place you've ruled out may actually be more accessible than you realise.
💛 Don't let assumptions make the decision for you.

📩 Contact us to discuss your options.

The most powerful words a child can say?

"I did it myself."

Not because the task was big.

But because the confidence is.

Whether they're pouring a drink, putting on their coat or solving a problem with a friend, children are building something much bigger than independence.

✨ They're building belief in themselves.

And that's a skill they'll carry for life.

📩 Find out how we encourage confident, capable learners every day.

👕 The outfit philosophy

Children often have very strong opinions about clothing choices…

Including:
🧦 “these socks feel wrong”
☀️ shorts in winter
🎭 fully expressive styling decisions
💛 This is identity, autonomy, and decision-making developing through everyday routines.
✨ Self-expression starts early.

What’s your current outfit battle? 👇

🌱 Every child grows in their own way 🌱

At Our Monkey Club, we don't believe children need to be moulded into a particular shape or follow a fixed blueprint for success. Instead, we embrace Alison Gopnik's "Gardener" approach to child development.

Just as a gardener creates the right conditions for plants to flourish, we create nurturing, stimulating environments where children can explore, discover, and develop at their own pace.

Through play, curiosity, sensory experiences, and supportive relationships, we provide the foundations children need to thrive—trusting them to grow into the unique individuals they are meant to be.

Every child’s journey is different, and that's something we celebrate every day. 💚

Because when children are given the space, support, and opportunities they need, amazing things happen.

✂️🌟 Snip, Snip, Success! 🌟✂️

At Our Monkey Club, we often see how much focus, determination, and pride children show when they begin exploring cutting activities.

Scissor skills may look simple, but they are an important part of building the strength and coordination children need for everyday independence and early learning.

As children experiment with cutting, we often notice them carefully concentrating, adjusting their grip, and repeating actions as they build control and confidence over time.

💛 In these moments, we often see children:
• Strengthening hand muscles through repeated movement
• Developing hand-eye coordination and control
• Showing focus and persistence during tasks
• Exploring shapes and creative ideas through cutting and making

These experiences support a wide range of early skills, from writing readiness to everyday self-care abilities.

🌱 At home and in nursery life, families often notice this progress through simple activities like cutting paper, making collages, or exploring craft materials together.

💫 It’s through these small, repeated moments that confidence and control really begin to grow.

📅 QUICK QUESTION...

Do you know how your child's nursery place will be funded?

If the answer is:
🤷 "Not yet."
You're not alone.

Many families secure their place before they fully understand what funding they may be entitled to.

Whether you're considering:
✨ Working Family Funding
✨ Funded Childcare
✨ Tax-Free Childcare
✨ A privately funded place
Understanding your options early can make planning much easier.

💛 The earlier you explore your options, the more choices you'll have.

🎭✨ The Magic of Representative Role Play ✨🎭

At Our Monkey Club, we often see children stepping into roles from the world around them — becoming doctors, shopkeepers, chefs, teachers, or superheroes as they explore their understanding of life.

Through these moments of imaginative play, children are not just pretending; they are replaying experiences, testing ideas, and making sense of the world in their own way.

💛 In role play, we often notice children:
• Using language to act out real-life situations
• Cooperating and negotiating with others during play
• Expressing feelings and exploring different perspectives
• Showing creativity as everyday objects become something new

These experiences support communication, emotional understanding, confidence, and early problem-solving skills in a very natural way.

🌱 At home and in nursery life, families often see this too — in dressing up, kitchen play, caring for dolls, or creating imaginative stories together.

💫 It’s often in these moments of pretend play that some of the deepest learning quietly unfolds.
