🌱 The Little Cherubs Team at EPOP – Early Years Festival 🌱
Today, members of the Little Cherubs team had the wonderful opportunity to attend EPOP, an inspiring festival dedicated to Early Years education and professional development.
Our day began with a very early 4am start! ☕️ After a few coffees and a long journey, we arrived ready for a full day of learning, reflection and inspiration.
Our first session of the day was Dough Disco with Shonette, an energetic and engaging start to the festival. Shonette demonstrated how music, movement and dough can be combined to support children’s physical development, particularly fine motor skills, hand strength, coordination and the foundations for early writing. It was a wonderful reminder that learning can be both purposeful and enjoyable, and that children’s development can be supported through playful experiences.
Throughout the day, we had the privilege of listening to a range of passionate and knowledgeable Early Years speakers, each bringing their own expertise, experiences and perspectives to the sector. Their sessions encouraged us to reflect on our current practice, consider new approaches and think carefully about how we can continue to provide high-quality experiences for the children in our care.
From discussions around play, relationships and children’s development, to leadership, learning environments and the importance of creating a strong sense of belonging, the day provided plenty of opportunities for professional reflection and development.
For us at Little Cherubs, professional development is an important part of ensuring that our practice continues to evolve. Days such as EPOP allow us to step away from our everyday routines, reflect on what we do, challenge our thinking and return with fresh ideas and renewed enthusiasm.
It has already been a long day, but one filled with learning, inspiration and plenty of ideas that we are excited to bring back to Little Cherubs. 💚
