🌞🌺🌻🌸Little lambs summer 2024 photo dump🌸🌻🌺🌞
We have also had our graduation, where we enjoyed a party to celebrate our journey at nursery with all our friends🎉🎊 .
We then also had a teddy bears picnic on Sutton lawn,before we all start our new adventures at big school 🐻
We are going to miss all the school leavers so much, but their new schools are very lucky to have them all. ⭐️

Shining stars photo dump of the last few weeks in our preschool room. What a wonderful first half of summer term we have had!

Our key learning has been:
- life cycles, we have loved watching eggs hatch into chicks 🐥
- We have been spending lots of time outdoors in all different weathers. Jumping in lots of muddy puddles and also going on bug hunts 🕵🏻‍♀️🍃🐞🐌
Watching our caterpillars turn into butterflies 🦋
- we also have enjoyed doing a hungry caterpillar food tasting activity 🐛 we read the story and even tried some of the scrummy foods in the same order which the hungry caterpillar ate them. The children were able to verbalise which foods like liked and which ones they disliked. Talking about what they tasted like, we used language such as ‘sweet’ ‘crunchy’ ’soft’ ’delicious‘ 🍉🍓🍊🍦🥒

🚨 Primary school National Offer Day reminder 🚨

Next Tuesday (16 April) is Primary National Offer Day for reception and year 3 school places. Parents who applied on time will be sent details of the infant or primary school allocated to their child.

💻 If you applied on time using our online portal, you will be able to view the outcome from midnight on 16 April. Emails will start to be sent to those applicants that provided an email address from 8.30am.

✉️ If you did not provide an email address we will send your outcome by second class post, so you will receive your letter a few days after 16 April.

If you applied after the 15 January deadline, we will start to process late applications from Wednesday 1 May.

In the shooting stars room we have been learning all about Dear Zoo based on our book of the term, the children have enjoyed the interactive display in the book corner and repeating the words out of our story, we also got creative and made the Dear Zoo animals we made snakes using paper plates and bubble wrap to press onto our plate, we made animals using two different colours and made snips using our scissors and sticking eyes onto the paper plates. We have been using our fine motor skills to squeeze the sponge into the jugs and exploring our different materials and tools in the tuff tray using the masher, the blocks, cars, and different animals to make patterns onto our paper, we also did great turn taking during this activity for some of our children’s next steps. Shooting have spent a lot of time outside doing lots of fun activities, we have been balancing and jumping onto the logs and also been on the bikes outdoors 🐑

Our star of the week last week was a little girl for having a full dry week on the potty ⭐️

Our star of the week this week is a little boy for managing his emotions and separating from parent to keyworker ⭐️

📚 World book day 2024📚

Wow what an amazing first 2 weeks of term the shining stars have had. Our topic had been space 🪐💫 we have turned our role play area into our very own spaceship🚀 the shining stars have enjoyed pretending to blast off to the moon with all their friends and go on lots of different adventures to all the planets , the children were able to create a role play together, they all had great communication skills as they built up this roleplay to go to the moon🪐🌏 we have been learning so much about all the different planets and astronauts and everything they have to wear to keep them safe ! Last week we focused on the sun and the moon 🌞🌚 we did a fun science experiment to make fizzy glowing moons using pipettes and bicarbonate soda and white vinegar. During the week we also had a Alien invasion, holly and Jess let it slip that during the night they turn into Aliens !!!!! To prove wether you are a alien or not we had a secret language, the children loved learning this language, they then made their own alien masks using the junk box modelling, the children got very creative designing their own Alien, we then all did a Alien dance around our room 👽 we have been designing our own rockets using the light table and the building pebbles.

This week we are learning all about Earth and the planet we live on. This morning the children have been enjoying getting creative making earth collages and also painting the land and water of the earth. 🌏
