Reminder: New Year 7 Mascot Competition

Calling all new Year 7 students joining Quarrydale in September 2026!

You have the opportunity to design a mascot for your year group. Simply create a mascot that captures the spirit of Quarrydale and shows what makes your year group special.

🏆 The winning design will be displayed on the school website and on the TV screens around school.

Once your design is complete, please hand it in to Student Services when you start in September, or give it to your tutor.

We can’t wait to see your creative ideas!

🎉 Celebrating Student Success! 🎉

On Friday 17th July, we were delighted to recognise and celebrate the incredible achievements of our students during our annual rewards presentation.

Awards were presented for 100% Attendance and our Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Behaviour Awards, alongside a number of special awards, including:

🏆 Headteacher's Award
🌟 Diversity Award
👏 Outstanding Student Award
💙 Excellent Conduct Award
⭐ Character Award

We were thrilled by the number of students recognised for their hard work, commitment and positive attitude throughout the year.

Attendance Awards
🥐 39 students enjoyed a special breakfast for achieving 100% attendance.
📅 275 students were recognised for achieving an outstanding 97% attendance or above.

🌟 Employer Encounters – Tuesday 7th July 🌟

Our Year 9 students had an incredible day at Nottingham Trent University’s West Nottinghamshire College campus, taking part in an inspiring Employer Encounters event!

The 14 students rotated through four exciting, hands-on workshops:
🚆 East Midlands Railway
🌉 Via – working in teams to design and build a bridge structure
🤖 Nottingham Trent University – controlling and programming a robot
🛠️ Rolls-Royce – building and controlling LEGO models

It was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their teamwork, problem-solving and engineering skills, while gaining valuable insight into a range of exciting careers.

A brilliant day all round – well done to everyone involved!

Reminder - Sports Day takes place tomorrow 21st July 2026 and a select group of students will be raising money for Ashgate Hospice and Prom by offering glitter face designs.

Glitter will be available in the science block from 8:00 AM onwards, costing £0.50p or £1.00 depending on the design.

Glitter will be available to students in all year groups. If you do not wish for your child to have glitter applied, please complete the Microsoft Form.

It was wonderful to welcome our new Year 7 students to Quarrydale yesterday for their first induction day! 🎉

It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces as students began to get to know the academy, and equally lovely to see the excited parents and carers waiting to collect them at the end of the day, eager to hear all about their first experience.

We hope everyone has another fantastic day today, and we look forward to seeing our new Year 7s continue to grow in confidence as they prepare to join the Quarrydale family in September! 💙
