One parent recently shared something that stayed with us.
“My child was very quiet.
Since joining Young Engineers, they have gained confidence, started asking questions, and made friends.”
We love seeing children build amazing models, but sometimes the biggest achievements are the ones you cannot hold in your hands.
The confidence to speak up.
The courage to ask questions.
The excitement of trying something new.
The pride of saying, “I built that.”
Every child grows in their own way, and it is a privilege to be part of that journey.
❤️ Sometimes the biggest thing children build is confidence.

DM “BUILD” to book a trial
A 9-year-old built and coded this Bowling Machine.
What started as a collection of parts became a working model through building, testing, problem-solving, and a lot of curiosity.
During our AlgoPlay session, the children discovered how building and coding work together to bring their ideas to life.
They tested their designs, made improvements, and even created their own bowling challenges along the way.
One of the best parts of the session was watching their excitement as their models started to work.
Learning becomes even more meaningful when children can build something themselves and understand how it works.
📍 Sessions available in Harborne and Sutton Coldfield for children aged 6–12.
Some children never stop asking questions.
Why?
How?
What happens if…?
We believe curiosity is where learning begins.
At Young Engineers, children build, explore, and discover how things work through hands-on STEM activities designed to spark confidence and creativity.
Every question is a chance to learn something new.
Could this be your child?

A 6-year-old built this. Real parts. One challenge.
Guided by our instructors. Built by your child.
This is the Windmill.
What they actually learned — how changing gear size controls speed. The same model demonstrates both speed increase and speed decrease. A real mechanical principle, understood through building.
Every model in the Real Student. Real Build. series was made by a child aged 6–12 during a Young Engineers session.
Not shown how. Not given the answer. Just given the right environment and the support to figure it out themselves.
Sessions available now in Harborne and Sutton Coldfield for children aged 6–12.
Your child’s first session is just £15.
Spaces this weekend are limited — DM us now to secure their spot.
They built an airplane.
This weekend in AlgoPlay, our students took on an advanced building challenge — building an airplane that moves forward in a circular route, powered by the wind it generates.
They were given building instructions and a code to move the airplane forward while blinking in red and green.
During playtime they tested it,
modified it,
and made it their own.
We suggested upgrades too — adjusting the code to fly backward, adding a distance sensor so the airplane flies whenever a hand crosses it, and customising the look of the build.
As we near the end of the AlgoPlay course, we want to take a moment to thank our students for a fantastic journey. They have grown so much in their coding skills and creativity and we are honoured to have been part of it.
We cannot wait to see what they accomplish next.
AlgoPlay is part of the Young Engineers programme — coding and engineering for children aged 6–10.

She said it herself.
“We able to build fun models that can be used for lots of different things….”
That is exactly what we set out to create — a place where children build something real, learn something real, and actually enjoy every minute of it.
No scripts. No prompting. Just a child telling you what she genuinely thinks.
If your child is aged 6–12 and based in Harborne or Sutton Coldfield, their first session is waiting.

Most parents think STEM can wait until secondary school.
But by then, many learning habits are already formed.
Between ages 6 and 12, children are building the way they approach problems, frustration, confidence, and challenge itself.
This is the window where:
✔ curiosity grows
✔ resilience develops
✔ problem-solving becomes natural
And once children start believing:
“I’m just not good at that…”
That belief becomes much harder to change later.
At Young Engineers Harborne & Sutton Coldfield, every session is designed to build these skills through hands-on STEM challenges.
Not worksheets.
Not passive watching.
Real parts.
Real thinking.
Real growth.
