Smart Start Day Nursery

As part of our weekly project about fire engines and the people who help us, this morning Perry Barr Fire Station visited the nursery. The children really enjoyed seeing the fire engine, using the hose pipes, and sitting inside the fire engine. All of the children had a lovely time and were very excited to learn about the important work firefighters do.

The children in nursery took part in collecting rubbish as part of their Earth Day activities. Some children also baked cookies to celebrate the occasion. They talked about the importance of keeping the planet clean and learned about recycling different materials.

This morning, all the children enjoyed their music lesson in the garden with Sarah, the music teacher. The sun was shining brightly, and the children had a wonderful time dancing and singing along with Sarah while exploring different instruments.

We had a very special visitor at nursery today—Moana, all the way from the Island of Motunui! The children had a wonderful time singing and dancing with her. 🌺🎶

Children in the baby unit had a wonderful time during the Easter egg hunt and were excited to see the Easter Bunny visiting the unit.”

This afternoon we held our Easter bonnet parade. All the children made their bonnets at home with the help of their parents – they were absolutely wonderful!

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event.

We also had a very special visitor join us at nursery, which made the day even more exciting for the children! 🐣🌸

This week in nursery, the children learned about the festival of Eid. They enjoyed tasting authentic foods traditionally eaten during Eid and had fun having henna patterns painted on their hands.

Summer has arrived, and the children enjoyed having fun in the garden, washing the cars and bikes.

The “butterflies” group also had a lovely time playing with water. They used the toy motorcycles and containers to practise fine motor skills, filling and emptying water as they bathed the dolls.
