About Reincarnation:
The word reincarnation was introduced into the English language in the middle of the 19th century. It is composed of five latin elements: re = repeat or again, in = into, carn = flesh, ate = cause or become, ion = process. So reincarnation literally means, 'the process of coming into flesh again'. This implies that there is something in within that is separate from the flesh or body that returns after death takes place.

About Transmigration:
This word has been used in the English language since the 16th century. It also comes from Latin. The word trans = across, migr = to go or move, ation = process of causing or becoming. Transmigration is 'The process of moving across from one to the other'. It is used as frequently as reincarnation to signify the crossing of the spirit soul from one body to another.

About Metempsychosis:
This is a Greek word. Meta = later, beyond, changed, psyche = soul or consciousness, osis = process. To the ancient Greek philosophers like Plato, Socrates, Arisotle, Themisctocles and Pythagoras, this was, 'the process by which the soul gets changed after death into a new body'. Other related ancient Greek words are 'metensomatosis' and 'palingenesis', all refer to reincarnation or the soul's passing from one body to another.

Scientific means to know/sciente beyond doubt. There are three ways of collecting knowledge. Pratyaksha - through sensual observation, Anumaan - through conjecture and logics, Shabha Pramaana - through hearing from an authority like a professor or great teacher Acharya. All are scientific according to the work itself.

Important shloka from Padma Purana, Brahma Khanda 25.16

shivasya sri-vishnor ya iha guna-namadi-sakalam
dhiya bhinnam pasyet sa khalu hari-namahita-karah

"In this material world, the Holy Name of Vishnu is all-auspicious. Vishnu's Name, Form, Qualities, and Pastimes are all transcendental absolute knowledge. Therefore, if one tries to separate the Absolute Personality of Godhead from His Holy Name or His Transcendental Form, Qualities and Pastimes, thinking Them to be material, that is offensive. Similarly, to think the names of the demigods such as Lord Siva to be as good as the Name of Lord Vishnu---or, in other words, to think Lord Siva and other demigods to be other forms of God and therefore equal to Vishnu---is also blasphemous. This is the second offense at the lotus feet of the Lord. Lord Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the source of all the Vishnu tattvas, avataras, demigods and sages. Lord Krishna has sixty-four (64) Transcendental Qualities in an unlimited quantity. Lord Vishnu has sixty (60) qualities completely. Lord Siva has fifty-five (55) qualities to a large extent but not fully like Vishnu. And Brahma, the best of all living entities possess fifty (50) qualities to some extent. Thus Lord Krishna remains the Supreme Personality of Godhead by the dent of His superior position.

This week we read about the sad demise of King Pandu after twelve years living the austere life of a celibate aesthetic with his two queens, Kunti and Madri. After the anthyesti (funeral) ceremony where Madri embraced the King on the funeral pyre being engulfed by the flames, the Pandavas moved into the Kuru capital city of Hastinapura.

In due course of time a natural enmity developed between prince Duryodhana and prince Bhima. It became so acute that the young Duryodhana attempted to murder Bhima by administering poisonous food to him in the form of sweetmeats and cake.
