Porto Trip Update - We have loaded the coach at Gatwick after a very smooth flight. Passengers were very complementary about the group.

Current eta back at Streetly is 12:30am but more specific time updates will be found on the X/Twitter page.

Please do not block the access to the school gates as the coach will be pulling onto site and it will not be open until we arrive.

Porto Trip 2026 Update-
Just to make you aware that the Porto Trip page has been temporarily disabled. Parents of those on the trip have been emailed, if you have not yet seen this email please check.

The group are currently in the airport, through security and getting some refreshments before the flight.

This week, we received the impact report for our Christmas Fundraising for Kickstart Coffee, our partner charity, working to provide education to some of the poorest children in Entebbe, Uganda. For those who donated, you really have made a difference.

Update on Christmas Charity Activities.

We wanted to update you on our charity activities this Christmas. Firstly, we wish to celebrate the immense efforts of the 6th Formers who oversaw our Food Bank Collection. As you can see from the image, an exceptional amount of food was collected for families facing financial difficulties this Christmas.

Secondly, we have an update from the CEO of Kickstart Coffee, Hannah Nunn on the impact of our fundraising for children in Uganda to access education. She writes;

"I’ve been reflecting today and wanted to say another thank you for your support. I would love to direct any funds raised towards our secondary education programme. We’re aiming to support at least 60 teenagers to attend school by helping to cover teachers’ salaries.

Many of these young people come through from the Early Learning School, while others are street children from Kampala who have no home, no stability, and no access to education.

Your support will help ensure they have the essentials they need - uniforms, stationery, and boarding items - so they can attend school and thrive.

In Uganda, only around 10% of children complete secondary school. Without education, it becomes incredibly difficult for them to reach their potential or break the cycle of poverty. I’m so grateful for your support in helping to change this and in directly impacting the lives of these teenagers."

We have a fabulous Christmas Tree that is not needed after Friday. It is about 17 feet tall. If anyone in our local community wants to offer it a home over the Christmas period, you are welcome to collect it on Friday afternoon, after 1pm and before 3pm. We are delighted to announce our relationship with Kickstart Coffee, a charitable nonprofit coffee company transforming children's lives in southern Uganda. This partnership will offer our students opportunities to make a difference through fundraising and working towards a volunteering visit to the Ugandan Schools in Summer 2027.
