A look behind the scenes at Embark Learning

Our learners have been taking part in hands-on training, practising important care skills and learning more about what it takes to support others.

From moving and handling, first aid, personal care and de-esculation and breakaway techniques, these moments show just some of the preparation that goes into starting a career in health and social care.

It’s always great to see the enthusiasm learners bring to each session and the progress they make as they continue developing their skills.

We’re really pleased to have supported The Haven’s Back to School Appeal this year. 🎒

Rucksacks were filled with school essentials, including stationery, notebooks, water bottles and a few other bits to help children get ready for the new school year.

Starting a new school year comes with plenty to think about, and for some families, the cost of getting everything they need can be an added pressure. Having the right equipment for school can make such a difference, helping children feel prepared, comfortable and ready to learn.

It was lovely to play a small part in such a worthwhile appeal and help The Haven provide these essentials to children and families who need them. 💙

A stronger health and social care workforce starts with developing the right people.

The future of care depends on having skilled professionals who are prepared, supported and ready to make a difference. Whether supporting people taking their first steps into the sector or helping organisations develop their workforce, effective training plays a vital role in strengthening health and social care.

At Embark Learning, we support individuals and employers through training, development and employment pathways designed around the needs of the sector.

Our programmes help people gain recognised qualifications, build practical skills and develop the confidence needed to succeed in care, while supporting providers with a pipeline of trained and motivated professionals.

By investing in learning and development, we help create opportunities for individuals and support care organisations in building the workforce they need for the future.

Strengthening care starts with developing the people who deliver it.

🌟 International Youth Day

Over the last few years, we’ve been proud to work with The King’s Trust to help young people get into employment across health and social care. It’s been a great partnership, giving young people the opportunity to gain experience, develop their skills and get started in work, while also helping bring more people into the care sector.

Our King’s Trust participants have now worked 9,000+ hours, which is a fantastic achievement. Seeing young people gain experience and take their first steps into employment is something we’re really proud to be part of.

A big thank you to The King’s Trust for the continued partnership and to everyone who has supported the young people along the way. We’re looking forward to continuing the work together.

We’re really proud of Neil and the journey he’s been on with us. 💙

Neil joined Embark with the aim of starting something new in care, and it’s been brilliant to see where that has taken him. After completing his Level 1 course, he went on to join Fairway Healthcare and has worked incredibly hard ever since. He’s put in some seriously long hours and has always been willing to go the extra mile.

What stands out about Neil is how much he genuinely cares. He’s a lovely person to have around and someone who puts a lot into his work. The people he supports are important to him, and that comes across in everything he does.

It’s been great seeing everything Neil has achieved since starting with us. He’s worked hard, thrown himself into the role and made a real start to his career in care. Hearing him describe the experience as life changing honestly means a lot.

Neil, thank you for all the hard work you’ve put in. You’ve done brilliantly, and we’re really looking forward to seeing where things go from here. 💙

Sometimes, all someone needs is a chance.

A chance to learn.
A chance to grow in confidence.
A chance to discover they're capable of more than they ever imagined.

For Rhys, it meant gaining the confidence to step into new environments and build a career in care.

For Neil, it was nothing short of life changing.

These aren't just success stories. They're reminders that when people are given the right support, encouragement and opportunity, incredible things can happen.

Take a moment to read their stories. They might just change the way you think about a career in care, or inspire someone you know to take that first step.

🎉 Congratulations to everyone who has successfully completed the programme!

Over the past four weeks, our learners have shown real commitment, resilience, and determination throughout their journey towards the next step in their careers. This group should all be incredibly proud of what has been achieved, and it’s especially exciting that many are now starting work with Fairway as they move into employment.

A special congratulations also goes to our trainer, Kate, on successfully delivering her very first cohort. Feedback from learners was overwhelmingly positive, with Kate praised for being supportive, patient, motivating and engaging throughout. It’s a fantastic achievement and a real reflection of the positive impact she has had on the group.

Well done to every learner who completed the programme, and congratulations once again to Kate on this brilliant milestone. 👏

This National Wellness Month, we’re recognising the importance of wellbeing across the care sector.

Care professionals dedicate so much of their time to supporting others, but it’s just as important that they feel supported too.

Wellbeing is about feeling valued, having the opportunity to grow, and being part of a working environment where people can thrive. From taking those first steps into care through training, to developing a long-term career within the sector, every stage of the journey matters.

This month, we’re celebrating the people who make care possible and recognising the importance of supporting the wellbeing of those who support others every day.

A great start for our next group of learners 💙

We recently welcomed a new group of individuals to their Information Session with Embark Learning ahead of starting their course.

It was fantastic to meet everyone and hear their reasons for wanting to begin a career in health and social care. The passion, motivation and genuine desire to support others really stood out.

Following the session, a large group of individuals will now be starting their journey with Embark Learning, building the skills and confidence they need to progress into care.

Our Information Sessions are an important part of the learner journey, giving us the opportunity to get to know each person, understand their goals, and make sure they have the right support from the very beginning.

We’re looking forward to supporting this new cohort as they take their next steps towards making a difference in the lives of others.
