Easter Egg Storytelling Hunt! 🐰📖

Get ready for an Easter activity that combines outdoor fun with storytelling magic!

1. Begin by writing words related to Easter themes and characters, such as bunny, chocolate, flowers, sunshine, spring, trees. Write these on colourful card cut into egg shapes.

2. Hide these story prompts in various spots around the garden, or around the house.

3. Give your child a basket or bag to start their Easter egg hunt and collect some story prompts.

4. Encourage your child to write or tell a story based on these words. For example, if the prompt is ‘a magical bunny’ then your child would include this character in the evolving tale.

5. Grand Finale: Encourage your child to share their story with family and friends and enjoy the fun of storytelling. As an extra incentive, you can also offer the reward of a tasty Easter egg.

Let the storytelling hunt begin! 🌳📚

It’s traditional to eat Hot Cross Buns on Good Friday, but do you know why?
It is believed that an Anglican monk in the 12th century gave buns to the poor on Good Friday. The cross on the hot cross bun represents the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross, making it a symbolic food for Good Friday. The spices in the bun are said to represent the spices used to embalm Jesus and adding a citrus twist or orange peel is to reflect on the bitterness of his time.

🌷🌼🌸 Spring is in the air and the daffodils will soon be out in their full glory. 🌸🌼🌷

As nature explodes with colour, here’s a quick maths puzzle for your child:

Daffodils have a unique petal arrangement. A standard daffodil has 6 petals in its outer ring and another 6 in its inner ring. If you pick 3 daffodils, how many petals would you have in total? 🤔🌈💡

The answer is at the end of this post.
