🎉 GCSE Results Day Success at The Arthur Terry School 🎉

Once again, is pleased to announce a year of positive results for students, marking the culmination of years of hard work and resilience.

The entire school community is incredibly proud of its students, many of whom are now looking forward to progressing onto our Sixth Form.

While all students have performed well, there have been a number of notable individual performances, including:

⭐ Amber P - 7 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 7s
⭐ Marcus H-B - 4 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s
⭐ Isla S - 6 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 7s and 1 Grade 6
⭐ Jayden T and Elias R-L - 10 grades above Grade 7

Jo Fairclough, Headteacher, said:

"Our students have shown exceptional levels of hard work and resilience to achieve this year’s excellent results. While we rightly celebrate their academic success, we also celebrate the young people they have become. Throughout their time, they have embraced our ‘Proud, Kind, Ready’ ethos and made such a positive difference to our community.

I want to extend my thanks to staff and families for the support they have given. We are delighted that so many students will be joining our successful and oversubscribed Sixth Form and wish every one of our Year 11s the very best for the next chapter of their lives."

The school remains committed to supporting all students in making informed choices about their futures, ensuring they are well-prepared and able to achieve great things in the next phase of their education.

🎉 The Arthur Terry School celebrates A Level success 🎉

Students and staff at are celebrating receiving their A Level grades today.

The school is proud to announce another year of excellent results for students! Their determination and hard work has led to a strong set of results and will now progress onto their chosen next steps in higher education, jobs or apprenticeships.

There have been some impressive individual performances, which include:

⭐ Alfie Jephson, who successfully achieved 3 A*s in Business Studies, Geography and Maths, and has secured his place to study Geography with Business at the University of Nottingham.

⭐️ Isabelle Agbonlahor-Lane, who successfully earned 3 A*s in Business, Geography and Psychology and has secured her place to study Psychology at the University of Liverpool.

⭐️ Gabriel Agbonlahor, who achieved 2 A*s in Business and Law and an A in Psychology and has secured his place to study Law at the University of Manchester.

⭐️ Harry Chadwick, who achieved 2 A*s in Business and Maths, an A in Geography and has secured his place to study Accounting and Finance at the University of Bath.

⭐️ Umair Khan, who achieved 2 A*s in Law and Sociology, an A in History and has secured his place to study Law at the University of Birmingham.

⭐️ Thea Raj, who achieved an A* in Psychology, a Distinction* in BTEC Sport and an A in Sociology and has secured her place to study Education at the University of Birmingham.

⭐️ Millie Stanley, who earned an A* in Biology, and 2 As in Chemistry and Spanish, and has secured her place to study Medicine at the University of Sheffield.

⭐️ Esme Archenhold, who earned 3 As in Biology, Chemistry and English, and has secured her place to study Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at the University of Nottingham.

⭐️ Olivia Hughes, who earned 3 As in Biology, Chemistry and Sociology, and has secured her place to study Biomedical Sciences at the University of Liverpool.

We would also like to congratulate Thomas Bloxham, who secured 2 A*s in Maths and Further Maths and 2 As in Computer Science and Physics, Benjamin Higgins, who achieved an A* in Mathematics and 2 As in Chemistry and Computer Science, and Sheetal Yogesh who earned an A* in Psychology and 2 As in Biology and Chemistry.

“I’m so thrilled for our students! It’s amazing to see them achieve the outcomes that open up high-quality post-18 pathways. It’s been a real pleasure working with them.’’

‼️ End of Year Message from the Headteacher‼️

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we reach the end of another academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank every member of the Arthur Terry community for the
support, commitment and partnership you have shown throughout the year.

It is fair to say that the past twelve months have brought their share of challenges, requiring us all to adapt, respond and work together as a school community. Throughout it all, the strength, resilience and spirit of our
students, staff and families have shone through.

Despite the challenges we have faced, this has been a year of which we can be immensely proud. It has been filled with memorable moments, outstanding achievements and countless examples of our students embodying what it means to be Proud, Kind and Ready.

We have welcomed our new Year 7 students and watched them settle in, grow in confidence and become valued members of our school community. Year 10 students completed highly successful work experience placements, while our Year 12 students embraced UCAS preparation and careers
events as they began planning their next steps beyond school.

There has been much to celebrate beyond the classroom too. Our students have excelled on the sports field, including memorable Sports Day performances, becoming national Handball champions and Sutton Coldfield Wind-ball Cricket champions. On the stage, our production of High School Musical showcased the exceptional talent, creativity and dedication of our students and staff.

Educational visits and enrichment opportunities, including trips to Paris and Madrid, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Outward Bound, the Year 12 Colour Run and many more experiences, have helped broaden horizons, build confidence and create lasting memories.

Alongside these successes, our students have continued to achieve academically, supported every day by the dedication, expertise and care of our exceptional staff team. Their commitment to ensuring that every young person can thrive remains at the heart of everything we do.

While we are proud of all that we have accomplished together, we are not complacent. Our ambition for Arthur Terry remains as strong as ever. We are committed to continuous improvement, ensuring that every student receives the very best education and opportunities to succeed.

We will continue to work closely with families to maintain high levels of attendance, strengthen our House system so that every student feels a strong sense of belonging, and support even more young people in achieving the very highest standards at GCSE and A Level.

I firmly believe that we have all the ingredients needed to become an even stronger and more exceptional school: hardworking and compassionate students, dedicated staff, supportive families and a community united by high aspirations and shared values.

Thank you once again for the trust you place in us and for the vital role you play in supporting your child's education.

A reminder that Tuesday 1st September is a staff training day, and Year 7 students will return to school on Wednesday 2nd September.

🎭☀️ What an incredible way to end the school year! ☀️🎭

Our Summer Showcase was the perfect celebration of the amazing talent within our Performing Arts department. From incredible live music, talented singers and bands, to breathtaking dancers, powerful soloists, beautiful duets and fantastic group performances – every performer took to the stage with confidence, creativity and passion.

A huge thank you to our wonderful Year 7, 8 and 9 audiences, who were so supportive throughout every performance. Your encouragement, cheers and applause made the day even more special!

We are so proud of every single student who performed or helped behind the scenes. You should all be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved this year.

📍 Dorset Geography Field Trip 🌊🗺️

Our Year 12 geographers have been putting classroom theory into practice on the Dorset coast, investigating coastal processes, collecting fieldwork data, and developing their understanding of dynamic landscapes.

A fantastic opportunity to learn beyond the classroom while exploring one of the UK's most stunning natural environments.
