To maths students and parents
The first a level exam is on Tuesday. I will be doing an all day revision sesssion tomorrow in Birmingham, covering the topics that are generally considered to be the most difficult. The topics will be differentiation, integration, parametric equations and vectors. Everything will be covered thoroughly and I will answer any questions.
There are a few spaces available so if you see this and could do with strengthening these areas before your exam, send me a message or get a parent to message me.
Good luck to all.
Ihsaan Aziz: GCSE / A Level Maths Tuition - Sutton Coldfield
Sutton Coldfield Maths Tuition. Online & In-Person for both GCSE & A Level Students.
About Me
My name is Ihsaan, I am 25 years old and I am from Sutton Coldfield. I am a maths graduate and I have tutored maths for over 10 years, 7000 hours of GCSE and 4000 hours of a level. I have achieved highly in maths throughout my academic history However; I do not consider this to be the most important fact about me, although it highlights the knowledge of the subject. More importantly, I am very different to other maths tutors. Maths is generally considered, by students, to be very boring and difficult. Due to my age and methodology, students are able to relate to me much more than they would with others, which makes the learning environment far more comfortable. Combine this with my engaging lessons and improvements will be seen in no time. I have worked with students who want to achieve high grades, and those who just want to secure their pass. There is a technique to both and I understand it fully. I strongly believe that maths is not a one shoe fits all kind of thing, unfortunately the majority of schools can only teach it in this way. This means most students are only seeing one method per topic and it may not be optimal for them. I offer lots of different options for working out for every student, so that they can feel fully comfortable.
Tutoring Experience
Maths is the only subject that I tutor, I am a specialist. I have worked as the head of mathematics at a tuition centre in Sutton Coldfield for 5 years. I have been tutoring GCSE maths for over 10 years, to both higher level students and foundation level students. I have amassed over 7000 hours of GCSE tuition and can provide testimonials upon request.
I have been tutoring A-level for around 7 years. I have amassed over 4000 hours of A-level tuition and can provide testimonials upon request. In the year just gone (2022), I had 20 a level students. The results were 3 A*’s, 14 A’s and 3 B,s.

Tutoring Approach
My teaching approach varies greatly from student to student. As previously stated, maths can not be taken as a one shoe fits all subject. This is a great mistake that people make often. I would summarise my approach in the following way: I always begin by getting to know the student and finding some common ground, so that they feel comfortable learning from me. I feel this is pivotal. Then I get a feel for their preferred learning style, whether that be auditory visual etc. From here, I tackle the most difficult topics for that student and make them as simple as possible, and repeat until we complete. I have done this countless times and my goal is that all young people excel and become the best versions of themselves. I know the journey was difficult for me, so supporting young people through this time really motivates me.
