Finally, we got there. What a day! A huge well done to my own incredible students for their hard work, ambition and resilience. They are ready for their next steps!

After such a long wait, the class of 2023 are holding their nerve and waiting for their GCSE results tomorrow. We wish them well.

Here is another gem from one of my Year 11 GCSE maths students in June to any Year 10s.

That's a wrap on GCSEs for this summer. Before they left, I asked my Year 11s what advice they'd give to Year 10s.

It's exam season. Here's my advice to anyone doing maths exams. Try not to let time pressures in an exam situation affect your accuracy. It's often worth slowing down a little bit and double-checking as you go, rather than rushing and making lots of mistakes.

Some interesting quotes from my Year 11 students over the past couple of weeks...
'I love it when the last exam question is on trigonometry!'
'I'm happy when there's a question on cinema prices or discount on theatre tickets - something that interests me.'
Or another favourite...
'Thank goodness I started revising bits and pieces at the very start of Year 11.'

Maths GCSEs are around the corner. Nothing good comes easy, but drive, determination and hard work pay off. Honestly. Make a plan, stick to it and keep going!

It's never too soon to start revising for that last set of GCSE mocks.

It's been an important time for my 11+ students who have smashed it this week with a great set of exam scores. Huge congratulations and best wishes for the exciting times ahead.

I couldn't let this day pass without congratulating my own amazing students who, despite all of the crazy disruptions, have all done incredibly well. So, so happy for them as they move on to their next steps.

The wait is nearly over. After an intense exam season, the class of 2022 will be collecting their GCSE exam results tomorrow. We wish them all the best!

This is often a time when Y11 students have a bit of a wobble. For anyone who'd like some targeted support with the last leg of GCSE maths revision, I'm here. Mastering a couple of extra topics and increasing confidence can make a real difference. The Easter holiday is a great time to tackle some of those knowledge gaps.

Good news! Exam boards have released advance information on what GCSE exams will cover to help students focus their revision and exam preparation. It all helps!

Finally the schools are back, so here's a little trigonometry to get you thinking. Remember, even if you think you can't, you probably can!

Even if you think you're no good at maths, it doesn't mean you are or that you can't improve. So, it's Number Confidence Week.

Our teachers do an amazing job and we all have a greater appreciation of how tough that is. Not only do they educate our children, they also build their confidence.

2022 is considered to be a transition year in terms of exams. Advance information for summer exams will be given in early February to help students plan their revision. Also grade boundaries will be adjusted to reflect a midway point between 2021 and 2019.
