Last week our Year 5 children headed up to St Michael’s Church to practise their sketching skills, focusing on their use of line and shape. Once back in school, the children used water colours to help bring their sketches to life - check out their work! 🌟🎨🖼️🌟

A great first performance of ‘The Wrong Way Round’ from our talented Year 5 and 6 children this evening! The children will be performing again on Wednesday 15th July at 2pm - all family and friends are welcome. If you’re a fan of sci-fi and 80s music, you’re in for a real treat! 🌟🎭👽🌟

The children in Year 3 had a fantastic day out at Magna Science Adventure Centre last week! The class took part in a volcanoes workshop but also really enjoyed all of the other experiments and interactive displays. Well done, Year 3! 🌟🌋👩‍🔬🌟

CAR WASH IS BACK!

The PTA will be back washing cars (and selling cake) on Saturday 18 July. The PTA is raising funds for an outdoor learning space to further enhance the amazing new building.

Fresh for this year, the event is a collaboration with Boy With The Orange Cap who is raising money to fund his place on East Leake Academy's trip to Nepal in 2027.

As well as the car wash, there'll be a uniform sale and refreshments stall.

Thank you to everyone who came to support the children at our recent Sports Days! The children were fantastic and showed real resilience, pride and respect when taking part in the races. Well done to the GREEN team who are our 2026 KS1 winners and to the RED team who are our 2026 KS2 winners! Thank you also to Sutton Bonington Parish Council for allowing us to use the playing fields and for marking out the tracks - we really appreciate it! A great couple of afternoons! 🌟🏃‍♀️🔴🏆🟢🏃🏻‍♂️🌟

It was a calm and purposeful Forest School session for Year 6 this afternoon. We made cookies over the fire, used flowers to create textile artwork and built our own swing! There may have even been a little bit of snoozing in the tree hammock - lots of fun was had by all! 🌟🌳🔥🌟

Congratulations to Team SB who won the Basketball League last night! The children have worked their way through the league and up to the final where they faced the East Leake Globetrotters. Everyone played well as a team and were able to secure a well deserved victory as well as a spectacular trophy! Well done to all involved and thank you to Mark Waters for his efforts with coaching and organising the games. Amazing news! 🌟🏀⛹️🏆🌟
