Next FSA Recognised FS Provider Webinar – Tuesday 8th September 2026 at 1700

Hopefully the start of the new academic year catches you at a point where you feel nourished and rested after a decent summer break.......some may say the ideal time to consider the next steps in your Forest School journey!

We have two ideally timed FSA Recognised FS Provider webinars coming up. These are free and open to anyone interested in learning about the professional standards for Forest School in the UK. The next webinar is on Tuesday 8th September 2026 at 1700, followed by another on Friday 13th November 2026 at 1200.

We cover why people choose to become FSA Recognised for their Forest School practice, the benchmarks of the scheme, and the process of applying. Attendance does not commit you to anything, so if you fancy bringing along a cuppa for these ‘after-work’ or ‘lunch time’ sessions, you can register to attend the September or November webinar now:

🌿 Join Me in the Woodland at Oh Shala Festival 🌿

Oh Shala Bhakti Festival

I’ll be holding two family woodland gatherings over the weekend, offering space to slow down, reconnect with nature, and share meaningful moments together around story, creativity and ceremony.

🔥 Saturday Morning | Sacred Family Fire

10:00–12:00

Gather around the fire circle and discover one of humanity’s oldest relationships.

We’ll begin with the ancient story of How the Animals Gave Humankind Fire before exploring the art of fire-making together. Families will forage for natural tinder, learn what helps a fire grow and breathe, discover traditional bow drill fire lighting, and experience the quiet magic of tending a fire with care and respect.

Once the flames are dancing, we’ll gather around the warmth to share seasonal woodland treats, wild herbal tea, and stories, taking time to appreciate why people have gathered around fires for thousands of years.

A morning of storytelling, traditional skills, nature connection, and family togetherness around the heart of the fire.

🌀 Sunday Morning | Blessings to the Land

10:00–12:00

As the festival comes to a close, join us beneath the trees for a gentle community gratitude ceremony.

Together we’ll wander the woodland, gathering nature’s freely given treasures before creating a beautiful community spiral from leaves, feathers, flowers, seed heads and sticks. Along the way we’ll share stories, moments of wonder and gratitude, reflecting on all the land has offered throughout the weekend.

One by one, we’ll walk the spiral, carrying a simple offering to its centre—a thank you, a wish, a blessing—before closing with a heartfelt ceremony to honour the relationship between people and the more-than-human world.

A soulful morning of creativity, reflection, gratitude and woodland magic—the perfect way to end the festival and carry a little of the wild home with you.

“May we leave the land a little richer for our presence, and carry its wisdom with us wherever we wander.”

I look forward to seeing you all 💚🌳

Wild Women of the Woods
Qigong with Lotus Flower Yoga & Meditation & Fireside Feasting

Friday 24th July | 6–8 PM
Littleworth Common

Join us for an evening of connection, nourishment, and seasonal grounding beneath the trees.

We’ll begin with a gentle, empowering Qigong practice led by the wonderful Davina—a local Yoga and Meditation teacher, Energy Healer, and Qigong practitioner. With her calm, grounded presence and deep love of the Eastern arts, Davina will guide us through breath-led movement to help restore balance, soothe the nervous system, and gently replenish your energy.

Qigong is a moving meditation—accessible, soulful, and deeply restorative. Through flowing movements and mindful breathing, it helps release tension, increase vitality, and bring you back to the present moment.

After our practice, we’ll gather around the campfire to enjoy a seasonal feast together:

Grown-up s’mores
Mimi’s hedgerow spanakopita
Berry pavlova with fresh cream

Please also bring a dish to share for our woodland feast.

As the evening unfolds, there’ll be time for slow conversations, gentle bushcraft such as fire lighting, and simply soaking in the magic of sisterhood beneath the trees.

£20 per person

Spaces are limited for this small and nourishing gathering.

☀️ Summer Solstice Blessings ☀️

Take a moment for yourself when you awake. Make a tea. Go outside. Sit. Close your eyes. And Lift your face to the sun.

Feel its warmth upon your skin,
softening weary corners that have been carrying too much for too long.

Listen to the words.
Take a breath.
Let the earth hold you.

Let the birdsong remind you that you don’t always need to be striving.

Let yourself simply be.

Listen in.

Beneath the noise,
beneath the to-do lists,
beneath the doubts and worries,

there is a quiet light.

A steady light.

A light that has been within you all along.

Today, on this Summer Solstice,
may you remember that you are allowed to rest.

Allowed to receive.

Allowed to take up space.

Allowed to shine.

May the sunlight warm your heart,
may the earth steady your feet,
and may you trust all that is growing within you.

May these words be a blessing for your beautiful heart ☀️

Deep immersive game of Dungeons & Dragons across the heathlands today with a superb young Dungeon Master leading us through adventure and story. Across heather and through bramble we quested, trying to track down rogues through the woodland landscape. Some of us became healers. Protectors.Strategists.Storytellers.
And me?
I got to be the Cleric… healing the injured and sick along the way

Honestly, such a fantastic day in the woods.

Collaborative problem solving. Creativity.Movement. Freedom
Connection. Emotional regulation. Deep flow. Deep engagement. All kinds of play shapes unfolding naturally across in about and around the landscape.

This is why I love Forest School so much.

In a world full of pressure, structure, and outcomes—play is one of the few places where we get to be fully human.

And how I love to play. More than that though, I need play.

It takes time and space to transition from outside noise, and pressures when my system feels stuck. Time and space for transition into play matters.

It’s how I regulate—without forcing it.How I process—without needing words.How I connect—without pressure.

For when play is truly unstructured—no agenda, no outcome, no expectation—my body knows what to do.

I might climb, spin, twirl, take on characters and voices, drop into deep focus, then shift suddenly.

That’s not distraction. That’s my nervous system regulating. Finding its rhythm again. That’s me being fully engaged. Remembering play.

Play isn’t something I use. It’s something I enter.

A space where autonomy lives.Where connection is mutual, not forced.Where I can be fully myself without being shaped.

And that’s why it matters.

Because in a world that often asks me to adapt, play is one of the few places where I don’t have to.

I just get to be.

Without it, I feel it—tightness, dysregulation, pressure, overwhelm, disconnection, shutdown. With it, everything flows again.

And yet… play is still one of the first things to be pushed aside.

Seen as extra.Seen as unproductive.Seen as something to justify.

But this is exactly what we’re getting wrong.

Because the moment we try to make play useful—with tick boxes, targets, and outcomes—we strip away the very thing that makes it powerful:

Freedom. Autonomy. Curiosity. Connection. The right to simply be.

Play is not something to engineer. Not something to measure. Not something to earn.

It is something we enter. It is a right. And it matters.

So I will keep holding space for it—messy, free, undefined, beautifully unpredictable.

Even when it’s misunderstood.Even when it’s inconvenient. Even when it doesn’t conform.

Because unstructured play is where something real happens. Where nervous systems settle. Where imagination isn’t managed or moulded. That’s where we see people. That’s where growing aliveness happens, without force. We’re being.

And we need to protect it.
