🎉 Happy Retirement to Mrs Baker & Mrs Halliday 🎉

Today we celebrated two incredible members of our Seaburn Dene family - Mrs Baker and Mrs Halliday - as they begin their well‑deserved retirement after many dedicated years at our school.

Between them, they have supported thousands of children, families and staff with kindness, patience, humour and an unwavering commitment to making our school a welcoming, organised and caring place. Their impact reaches far beyond the office door: from the reassuring smiles, to the calm voices on busy mornings, to the countless moments of help, comfort and encouragement that have shaped daily life at Seaburn Dene.

They are pictured here with the beautiful gifts generously donated by staff and the Friends of the School. Thank you to everyone for your kindness - it meant the world.

But as both of them would say, the true reward has always been your children. They are the reason these two wonderful members of staff have given so much of themselves over so many years: 57 in total!

We wish Mrs Baker and Mrs Halliday every happiness in their next chapter. They will always be part of our Seaburn Dene story. 💙

Another busy day in Reception today. To help with our transition to Year 1, we visited the big yard and explored the space together. The children were brilliant - curious, confident and excited for what’s ahead.

A fantastic day at Seaburn Beach yesterday. Our pupils shone with their brilliant manners and behaviour, confidently interviewing beachgoers for their geography fieldwork. We ended with a well‑earned treat - ice creams and lollies in the sun. A perfect finish to a great term.

🏴❤️ England Red & White Day – Wednesday 15th July 🤍🏴

To show our support for the England Men’s Team as they take to the pitch in the FIFA World Cup Semi-Final on Wednesday evening, we will be holding an England Red & White Day in school.

Children are invited to come to school wearing red and white instead of their usual school uniform to help cheer on the Three Lions 🦁 ❤️

Thank you to children, staff, parents/carers, governors and Friends of the School for making another great Seaburn Dene Sports Day, well, great!

🌟 What a fabulous day 🌟

Our Year 2 children have had the most brilliant time at Newcastle Keep today. They’ve learned so much, asked fantastic questions, and it was the perfect way to finish our final history topic of the year.

And yes… we’re very pleased the fruit and veg in the dungeon were soft and not mouldy! 😂🍎🥕

🍓☀️ Strawberry picking in the sunshine!
Our Year 1 children had a brilliant time harvesting the strawberries they’ve been carefully growing this term. Lots of smiles, lots of sunshine, and some very tasty rewards for their hard work! 🌱💛

🌟 Fantastic News from Our Former Pupils! 🌟

A huge well done to ex‑pupil Lucy (now Y7 at Monkwearmouth Academy) who has recently signed for Newcastle United. An incredible achievement and so well deserved.

She now joins Gabriel (also Y7) at the club — both key players in our triple‑winning school team last year. ⚽️🏆

🌊✨ What an Amazing Y4/5 Holy Island Residential! ✨🌊

Our Y4/5 children have had the most incredible few days on Holy Island - a residential full of adventure, teamwork and memories that will last a lifetime.

From exploring the island’s unique landscape, to learning about its history, to spending time together at Ozanam Camp, the children showed bravery, curiosity and brilliant behaviour throughout. Staff were so proud of how they supported one another, tried new things and represented Seaburn Dene so well.

A huge thank you to our fantastic staff team for giving the children such a rich experience, and to families for your support in making this residential possible.
