🧡 Read all about it! 🧡

We're proud to have contributed an article to the latest issue of CIfA's magazine 'The Archaeologist'.

In the piece, Laura explores the aims of the AB Heritage Explorers programme and how it helps bridge the gap between education and commercial archaeology, inspiring the next generation to engage with the archaeology and heritage sector.

Laura, our Outreach Manager, and her family recently enjoyed a fantastic day out at Hylton Castle for ‘The Battle for Sunderland’ reenactment! The English Civil War Society were amazing!

There was so much to see and do throughout the day, from battle reenactments and living history displays to interactive activities for all ages. Both children and adults had a brilliant time and came away having learnt so much about this fascinating period of history.

Events like these are such a wonderful way to bring heritage to life and inspire the next generation’s interest in the past!

🧡 Exploring The Sheepfolds 🧡

We had a great time with this group of fabulous Explorers! We discovered so much about the heritage of the area. We excavated dig-pits to find out more about the Sheepfolds in the 1880s, analysed our findings and completed many challenges including designing and building our own 100 horse stable! Fantastic!
