At Sunshine Nursery we learn , we laugh and we make friends. Sunshine Nursery is a home away from home for our children. We encourage our children to be curious, to ask questions, to investigate and to be confident. We follow the EYFS closely and use different assessment tools including baskets of opportunity (boo baskets), 2 year checks, Every child's a Talker and the South Tyneside Range documents to ensure every child reaches their full potential. We help all children to build and use their self care skills and help to prepare them for adulthood. We are OFSTED registered and have a Silver Stanley award, which we're very proud of. We also have a Neurodiversity award which was awarded to us from the ADHD Foundation. We were the first Nursery outside Liverpool to receive this award and we are extremely proud to hold this award. We currently have a waiting list for places for children aged between 2 and school age - and can offer the "2 year offer" which is 15 free hours, in some circumstances. All children are entitled to 15 free hrs the term after their third Birthday and in some cases 3 year olds may be entitled to 30 free hrs. Sunshine has morning, afternoon and full day sessions; the morning sessions are from 9am - 12 noon (£15) and the afternoon sessions are 12.00pm - 3.00pm (£15). Full days are from 9am - 3pm and are £30. The children will need a healthy packed lunch. We have regular visits from lots of different people and organisations, such as fireman, soldiers, dentists, the police, the road safety lady, and we also have a professional photographer who comes to us every year.
