BABY ITS COLD OUTSIDE 🥶🎄
This week our Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Professions groups got to take part in a guest lecture hosted on our campus by
They discovered what happens to the human body when temperatures drop and why hypothermia is more than just feeling cold. They explored how baseline observations, like heart rate, breathing, and temperature, change in chilly conditions, and why staying warm is vital during the festive season. This session gave students a taste of paramedic practice and how science meets care in emergency situations.

On Wednesday, one of our alumni, Anth Lewis, came in to share his experience of primary education at UoS. He gave advice and guidance for interviews at local universities while also discussing issues within teaching such as a lack of male primary school teachers

Today, Dr Tom Rodger’s from came to speak to our Access to HE Law and Criminology students - and they loved it! 👨🏻🏫
The session built on their previous knowledge of traditional criminological theory and was concerned with whether the space and place crime occurs is just as important as why it may occur, even considering the spatial crime data of their own areas. 📝
A big thanks to Tom for taking the time to come onto campus and give our students this opportunity!
