Celebrating 50 years of Kathleen Davis Stage School👯

Congratulations to Kathleen Davis who is celebrating a phenomenal half a century career dedicated to dance and theatre. From performing on Sunderland Empire's stage at 17 to forming her dance school in 1976 (first situated within our theatre), and coaching copious young people to perform and star in her productions and our pantomimes, Kathleen has had a huge impact on the performing arts in Wearside and has been a great support and friendly face to Sunderland Empire along the way.

As a kind gift, her lovely daughter surprised her today with her own plaque to commemorate the occasion. Here's to many more years in the business, Kathleen!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KDSS!
On the 11th July 1976 the Kathleen Davis Stage School was formed. And on Saturday night we all celebrated in style by throwing Miss Kathleen a huge surprise party to celebrate 50 years of her stage school. What an absolutely amazing achievement. Her career has been a huge success and KDSS continues to go from strength to strength. Just think for one moment of all the thousands of pupils she has trained and have learnt so much from her over the years, her passion, discipline and creativity is second to none.
Thank you to everyone who made the party such a special night for her, we all had an amazing time. (Photos to follow soon once they are back from the photographer. )
