About the Role
The Cedars Nursery is looking for a reliable, hardworking and conscientious Cleaner to join our friendly team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the nursery and its office, helping to provide a safe, hygienic and welcoming environment for children, staff, parents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness throughout the nursery.
• Clean classrooms, communal areas, corridors, toilets and other nursery facilities.
• Ensure all areas are clean, tidy and ready for use.
• Clean and maintain outdoor areas used by the children where required.
• Safely use cleaning products, machinery and equipment in accordance with instructions.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are stored safely and responsibly.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and report when stock needs replenishing.
• Follow all relevant health and safety, COSHH and hygiene procedures.
• Report any maintenance issues, damage or potential safety hazards to management.
• Work cooperatively with nursery staff to ensure the nursery remains clean and presentable at all times.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with nursery requirements.
• Attend relevant training as required.
About You
• We are looking for someone who is:
• Reliable, punctual and well organised.
• Thorough and takes pride in their work.
• Able to work independently and manage their time effectively.
• Flexible and willing to respond to the needs of the nursery.
• Friendly, approachable and professional.
• A good team player.
• Be able to follow clear verbal communication and show proficient written English so as to be able to follow health and safety procedures and cleaning instructions.
• Experienced in a cleaning role, preferably within a nursery, school, childcare or similar environment, although full training will be provided.
• Previous commercial or professional cleaning experience is desirable.
• A current DBS check would be desirable. The successful applicant must consent to a DBS and be willing to undertake any required safeguarding checks.
