Today we had the pleasure of delivering a fantastic Karate Taster Experience Day at Newbottle Primary Academy

The pupils were outstanding – showing great enthusiasm, focus, respect and determination throughout the sessions. It was brilliant to see so many children enjoying the benefits of martial arts while having lots of fun.

Our school taster days are designed to:

🥊🔥 MATT PRICE SEMINAR🔥🥊

Yesterday was our annual club kumite seminar with Matt Price Sensei. Matt has been to our Dojo for the last 3 years now and his visit is always a highlight of the year!

Matt led 2 fantastic sessions, focusing on competition kumite, padwork, timing and reactions. I am certian that everyone left the event with something to help develop their kumite moving forward.

As always, I would like to say a huge thank to to Matt for travelling up from Harrogate to teach at our Dojo. Also, to others who travelled from various Dojo's around the north east to attend the event. Not forgetting, our own members who took full advantage of this brilliant opportunity.

💜🌟COMMUNITY🌟💜

Every school holiday, we give children from our club the opportunity visit and volunteer at Love, Amelia , who are a fantastic local charity that we work closely with.

This morning, the children learned about the history of the charity and the valuable work that they do for those in our local community. They identified ways that we can all help people who are living in poverty by donating old, used or unwanted items and how much of a huge difference this can make to others!

The children worked hard at inspecting, cleaning and sorting toys that were to be re-distributed. They even got involved putting together packages to send out to other children across the city.

It was great to see first-hand the fantastic work that Steph and all of her team Love, Amelia do and the amount of dedication that goes into running such a brilliant cause.

A massive thank you to everyone at Love, Amelia for having us! 💜

🏅🏆CLUB COMPETITION🏆🏅

Saturday was our annual club competition. This is an in-house competition we run for our beginner club members only. The aim of this event is always to introduce our lower/middle grades into competetive Karate in a fun and friendly manner.

In total, we had 63 members taking part and the morning managed to run smoothly over 2 areas.

Many competitiors were setting foot onto the competetive mat for the first time, including some of our Karate tots from as young as aged 3! I was delighted with the overall standard of the beginners we have coming through the club and couldn't be prouder of everyone's efforts, determination and sportsmanship on the day.
