Creative Inclusion is a non-school alternative provision in Sunderland, working with neurodivergent young people who hold an EHCP and for whom school hasn't worked. We're trauma-informed and neuro-affirming. We don't use restraint. We build the provision around the young person, rather than asking them to fit something that's already let them down.

We are looking for someone warm, steady and organised to hold the beginning and the end of a young person's journey with us.

You'd be the person who:
๐ŸŒฑ welcomes new young people and their families and settles them in
๐Ÿš— heads out to check in when someone hasn't arrived and we can't reach them
๐Ÿด delivers & supports 1:1 and community sessions โ€” including our equine sessions
๐ŸŽฏ delivers our Preparation for Adulthood and careers work: money, travel, cooking, appointments, confidence
๐Ÿค builds our links with colleges, employers and guest speakers, and sets up work experience

You don't need to have worked in a school. Youth work, care, careers, employability, community work โ€” all welcome. What matters is that you're brilliant with young people, reliable, and happy working on your own initiative out on the road.

๐Ÿ’ท Pay: Band 2 (SCP 12โ€“17), ยฃ28,598โ€“ยฃ31,022 full-time equivalent. This post is 30 hours a week over our 45-week year, which works out at ยฃ20,066โ€“ยฃ21,767 a year, approximately ยฃ1,672โ€“ยฃ1,814 gross per month. 6 weeks' paid leave. Mileage paid.

Creative Inclusion is looking for Functional Skills Maths & English Tutors to join our team โ€” 30 hours per week, term-time only.

We are a trauma-informed provision for neurodivergent young people, and we do things differently. If you can make maths and English feel safe, achievable and enjoyable for young people who've often found them anything but โ€” we'd love to hear from you.

No high-pressure classrooms. No one-size-fits-all. Just relationship-first, strengths-led support that meets each young person exactly where they are. ๐ŸŒฑ

Today was our last day of term. Our learners finished at 12 pm and after lunch some of our staff completed Manual Handling training delivered by Shaun, the Director of Northumbria Training.

This course should be completed by every business - it was fantastic. Highly engaging, exceptionally informative, and delivered by a superbly knowledgeable trainer. Thank you Shaun, this was a perfect end to a wonderful term.

To all our learners and their families we hope you have a peaceful and restful summer and we can't wait to see our returnees in September. Thank you for your continued support, we appreciate you all so very much.

Today was the practical assessment of Vinnie's Drone course and he passed with flying colours - in fact we were told that he was a natural. And the icing on the cake is that he has already been commissioned to do some work with the drone for a local charity.

Vinnie, the sky really is the limit for you now. Huge congratulations, we are all so very proud of you.

Wow! What a morning! One of our learners passed his Drone Flyer ID training with Northumbria Training. He wanted to be a pilot but that was a career he was unable to pursue. Nonetheless, that did not stop him and today he is a Drone Pilot registered to fly Class 1 to 3 drones. A huge well done Vinnie, we are beyond proud of you. And a massive thank you to Shaun from Northumbria Training for organising and running this course. You have made Vinnie's year ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ.

Following a wonderful road trip yesterday, today we asked our learners to reflect on their day and record their thoughts. This is what they produced - we will utilise their amazing work to discuss emotions, the banning of phones and social media in schools and for under 16s respectively (the irony here is not lost on us ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ), and how we can work with and at these beautiful places. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

Yesterday our learners visited three amazing places. First stop was White Leas Farm (more about that in a later post), stop two was The Barn at Easington, and finally a visit to Tinaโ€™s Haven Nature Reserve - a very special place for one of our learners.

The day was filled with sunshine, laughter and appreciation - good food, good friends, good times. Being surrounded by nature really does heal the heart, mind, and soul. And we met two Irish donkeys - who knew ๐Ÿค”
