Children absorb everything adults say and do, so it is vital that they are surrounded by positive role models. I lead by example - modelling kindness, curiosity, respect, resilience and a love of learning. Children also thrive on routine, so I provide a calm, predictable structure that helps them feel secure and confident.
My setting reflects my love for the arts and the outdoors. Indoors, I offer a dedicated writing and mark-making area, because I believe that children are never too young to begin making marks that grow into letter formation, early reading and fluent writing. My reading area is constantantly updated and rotated.
Outdoors, children are encouraged to build their own obstacle courses, explore nature and take supported, sensible risks. My garden is fully enclosed with top-bolted gates, ensuring children remain safely inside and strangers cannot enter.
My home includes a downstairs wash facility with a shower, sink and toilet, along with steps for little ones. This provides privacy and comfort for nappy changes and washing when needed.
