Sunderland primary school goes yellow for hospice Pupils, staff and members of the Roker community came together for an afternoon of fun as they raised money for Sunderland’s hospice.
💛🟡 GO YELLOW – WHAT A DAY! 🟡💛
What a fantastic afternoon we had at Dame Dorothy Primary School celebrating our very first GO Yellow Day in support of St Benedict’s Hospice!
A huge thank you to all of our children who arrived dressed in yellow and helped create a wonderful sea of colour across the school. Your enthusiasm, energy and smiles made the day extra special.
We would also like to thank our parents and carers for joining us on the field, taking part in the assault course and throwing themselves into the fun. It was wonderful to see so many families coming together to support such an important cause.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, we are delighted to announce that we raised an amazing £220.75 for St Benedict’s Hospice, a charity that has provided invaluable support to families within our community.
This was our first-ever assault course event and, judging by the laughter and excitement, it certainly won't be our last. In fact, next year we'll be making it even bigger and more challenging! 💪
Thank you once again to everyone who took part, donated and supported the event. Together, we've made a real difference for a truly wonderful local charity. 💛

🌟 Celebrating Our Incredible 98% Club! 🌟
What a truly special afternoon at the beautiful Roker Hotel as we celebrated our amazing 98% Club with 50 fantastic children.
These pupils have shown outstanding commitment to their attendance, and they thoroughly deserved this special treat. We are so proud of each and every one of them. They represented our school brilliantly with their lovely manners, kindness and respect throughout the afternoon – they were a real credit to themselves and their families.
A huge thank you to the wonderful team at the Roker Hotel for providing such a delicious afternoon tea and for making our children feel so welcome. Your hospitality and care made the celebration even more memorable.
Well done to all of our 98% Club members – keep up the fantastic work! We can’t wait to celebrate with even more of you next time! 🫖🍰🥪👏💙
