Year 11 Apprenticeship Fair

Following the careers survey completed at the start of September, several Year 11 students expressed an interest in apprenticeships or were still considering their post-16 options. To support these students, we have organised a visit to the National Apprenticeship Show in Newcastle.

Parents and carers of selected students were sent information and consent details via Arbor this
week. Please check your Arbor account to view the letter and complete any required actions. We are delighted to offer this valuable career opportunity and look forward to seeing our students benefit from the experience.

Dear Parents, Carers and former students,

We are excited to invite you to be part of our Aspire Programme at St Robert of Newminster Catholic School. This initiative is designed to broaden our students’ horizons by connecting them with real-world experiences and inspiring career journeys.

As part of the programme, we are looking for parents, carers, and members of our wider school community who would be willing to meet with small groups of students to talk about their career paths, businesses, and educational journeys. Whether you’re in healthcare, engineering, education, the arts, trades, business, or any other field , your story could spark a student’s ambition and help them see new possibilities for their future.

These informal sessions will be held throughout the school year and can be tailored to suit your availability. We believe that hearing directly from people in our community will help students gain valuable insights and confidence as they begin to consider their own aspirations.

If you are interested in taking part, or would like to find out more, please complete this online form by Monday 5th October.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to working together to inspire the next generation.

Warm regards,

Mr Davis & Mrs McKenna

🚗 Year 8 Visit to Nissan, Washington 🚗

What an inspiring day for our Year 8 students at Nissan in Washington.

Students had the fantastic opportunity to step onto the factory floor and gain a real insight into the world of automotive manufacturing and engineering. They also took on the challenge of designing and engineering their own cars, putting their creativity, problem-solving and teamwork skills into practice.

Experiences like this provide students with a meaningful insight into the workplace, helping them understand the range of careers and pathways available within engineering, design and manufacturing.

A brilliant day of learning beyond the classroom and a fantastic encounter with employers and employees. A huge thank you to Nissan for inspiring our students and giving them an experience they can take forward into their future aspirations.
