A huge thank you to the fantastic team from Nissan who volunteered their time to support Barnes Infant Academy yesterday. π
Their hard work has made such a difference to our school environment. Throughout the day they helped to build sheds, construct a new sand pit, move outdoor buildings, fill planters, transport soil, sand and stones, and give our outdoor areas a real refresh.
Their enthusiasm, teamwork and willingness to get stuck in were incredible, and the impact of their efforts will be enjoyed by our children for many years to come. Our outdoor spaces are looking better than ever, creating even more opportunities for children to learn, play and explore.
From everyone at Barnes Infant Academy, thank you for your generosity, time and hard work. We are so grateful for your support and for helping us create an even better environment for our children. π±π«π

"This week in Nursery, the children have enjoyed setting up a Car Garage in our outdoor area. The boys and girls took on different roles in their play including being mechanics and car wash attendants!
Our story of the week is "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" by Michael Rosen. The children have enjoyed listening to the story, drawing pictures of the bear and designing caves in the block area. We used small world characters to act out the story and made models of bears in the play dough area!
The children have also been exploring 'one less to 5' using the number rhyme "There were five in the bed." We used teddy bears to act out the number rhyme, using our subitising skills to say how many were left!
On Wednesday, the children came to Nursery in their sportswear and we took part in some yoga and a football penalty shootout outside!"

π A Week of Learning Through Play in Nursery! π
Our Nursery children have had another fantastic week exploring, creating and learning through play! β€οΈ
From caring for babies and teddies in our role play area, to working together to tell familiar stories, our children have been developing their imagination, communication and social skills every day.
Outdoors, they've been busy making delicious "nature soup", exploring water and sand, riding bikes, investigating the world around them and working collaboratively to solve problems and share ideas.
It's wonderful to see the confidence, curiosity and independence growing in all of our children as they learn through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Every activity is carefully planned to encourage language development, creativity, teamwork and a love of learning.
We are so proud of everything our Nursery children achieve each day! πβ¨

Class 9 have had a very busy week. After discussing the World Cup and some children sharing their football achievements from home, we decided to create our own football stadiums in the creative area and the block area.
The children added supporters and we even recorded the score on a tally chart. We then had our own penalty shoot-out in the yard. It was lovely to hear the children cheering on one another and praising their friends.
The children have been reflecting on their time in Reception and recorded sentences and pictures linked to this.
This week we also had our end of Reception assembly for parents and family members. It was lovely to see so many of our families join the celebration.
The children were fantastic, their performance and singing brought tears of pride! Well done Class 9!
