Our nursery children have settled in so well and are becoming more confident as they learn and adjust to our nursery rules and routines. We are so proud of how well they are getting to know their new environment and each other!
Alongside our ‘All About Me’ topic, we have been enjoying the story of The Three Little Pigs. We’ve been talking about our homes, the people and things that are special to us, and how important teamwork is.
The children have had lots of opportunities to learn through play and creativity, including working together to build houses, making playdough pigs, re-enacting the story, and getting stuck into lots of wonderful Three Little Pigs-themed crafts!

The Newcastle Eagles came to visit us this week to complete activities linked to our health. We learned how to take care of our teeth, our physical health and our mental health. We realised that it is important to recognise our strengths and we were able to share these with the basketball players and our friends. We enjoyed practising dribbling and shooting too!

🏛️ YEAR 4 ROMAN ADVENTURE! 🏛️

Our Year 4 pupils had an amazing time learning all about the Romans on their visit to the Roman Fort this week! 🏺⚔️

They had the opportunity to explore the fort, discover what life was like for Roman soldiers and bring their history learning to life. 📜🛡️

What a fantastic day of learning, exploring and discovering! Well done, Year 4! 👏😊

🪨🔥 Year 3 Travelled Back in Time! 🏹
What an exciting Stone Age workshop for Year 3! Our morning was filled with drama, bringing the Stone Age to life, before we became prehistoric craftspeople in the afternoon. 🦴✨
We designed and made our own Stone Age jewellery and artefacts, learning lots about how people lived, worked and created things thousands of years ago!
A fantastic day of learning, creating and travelling back in time! 🪨🌿🏹
A huge thank you to Corinne and Hannah from Theatre Space North East for an amazing and memorable day! 🌟

In year 2 we looked at what we should eat to stay healthy. We sorted food into 2 columns. Foods we should eat a lot of. Foods we should eat a little bit of.

Year 1 combined their P.E. and Science lesson to look at what the heart does before, during and after exercise. The children learned about organs and the human skeleton, focusing on the muscle, the heart. The children jogged, ran and stretched their bodies, checking their heart rate every time. They really enjoyed the activity and learning about the body.

Reception enjoyed their first mini outing this week. We started off by going on a walk around the indoors and outdoors of our school. We talked about what we could see and hear on the way. We got to see where the older children’s classrooms are, where Mrs McDermott’s office is and we even had a chat with the lovely ladies in the office. When we ventured outdoors, lots of us talked about seeing the park and Herons.
We can’t wait for more mini outings in the coming weeks!

🤝💛 PSHE – Building Respect and Trust 💛🤝

In PSHE this week, we have been learning all about respect and building trust in our friendships. 🌟

We explored different scenarios where someone might be disrespectful and discussed how we could respond in a respectful way, including using a different tone of voice and positive body language. 🗣️😊

We then put trust into practice with a trust walk! 👣 With their eyes closed, children had to rely on their partner to guide them safely in the correct direction, using a calm and reassuring voice. 🤝
