✨ From everyday playground… to a space made for BIG imaginations! 🌈

We’ve recently completed this brilliant playground transformation at Chinthurst School in Surrey, creating a colourful, engaging outdoor environment designed to encourage children to move, explore, play and learn. 💙💛

The new space features a refreshed roadway design perfect for imaginative play, alongside bonded rubber mulch installed around the existing tree roots which provide a flexible, durable finish while working beautifully with the natural environment. 🌳

It’s amazing what thoughtful playground design can do to completely change how an outdoor space looks, feels and is used by children every day.

Why do timber playgrounds develop cracks? The answer surprises a lot of people🧐⁉️

If you’ve ever spotted small cracks in natural timber playground equipment, it can look worrying at first.

The truth is, it’s completely normal!!

Unlike steel or plastic, timber is a living, natural material. As it adjusts to changing temperatures and moisture levels throughout the year, it naturally develops small surface checks. These are a normal part of the seasoning process and don’t affect the strength or durability of the timber.

At Educational Play Environments, we carefully select sustainably sourced timber to create playgrounds that are made to last. Every piece has its own grain, texture and character, making each playground unique while providing children with a natural place to climb, explore, imagine and play.

We’re delighted to have transformed this space for Wigginton Parish Council with a brand-new 10m x 10m sports zone that’s ready for years of active play, sport and community fun.

This project included:
✅ A brand-new sports Zone with durable wet pour surfacing
✅ Action Target Goal with integrated sports wall panels
✅ Target panels to encourage skill development and accuracy
✅ Ground preparation, edging and a high-quality base built to last

From shooting hoops to target practice, this exciting new space gives children and the wider community somewhere to stay active, build confidence and enjoy being outdoors.

We recently had the pleasure of helping Grovelands Primary School bring their outdoor classroom vision to life.

This bespoke outdoor learning space combines a spacious timber shelter, colourful polycarbonate panels, integrated planters and community seating to create a versatile environment that can be enjoyed throughout the year. The covered structure provides valuable protection from the elements, allowing outdoor learning, group activities and social interaction to continue whatever the weather.

As a valued returning customer, it has been fantastic to support Grovelands once again and help create a space where children can learn, explore and grow beyond the traditional classroom.

We can’t wait to see how the school makes the space their own and brings it to life with displays, resources and activities for the children to enjoy for years to come. 🌿
