This group of young people has had quite a journey. For many, their time at secondary school was shaped by the disruption and uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. There were unexpected challenges, changes to routines and plenty of moments when school felt very different from what anyone had imagi...

Congratulations Bishop Wand Sixth Formers!
Today we celebrate an exceptional set of A Level results.
We are particularly delighted to see a 4% increase in the number of top grades awarded, with more students than ever achieving A* and A grades.
Many of our students will now take their places at leading universities across the country, including a significant number progressing to highly competitive courses such as Medicine, Science, Engineering, Economics and Law. We are immensely proud of their achievements and wish them every success as they begin the next stage of their academic journey.
We also congratulate those students who have chosen alternative pathways. Whether moving into prestigious apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships, work placements, entrepreneurship, employment or international travel, each student should take great pride in what they have accomplished and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
A specific mention also to our ACE cohort, who have enjoyed a successful year both academically and, on the field. They now go their separate ways, some to university, many pursuing professional sporting pathways, while others will continue to combine elite sport with their studies at high-performing BUCS universities
Above all, today is about celebrating every student's individual journey and achievement. We thank them for their contribution and look forward to following their future successes. We are incredibly proud of you all and wish you every success for the future.

The School's headline figures continue to reflect strong outcomes:

• A* to A Grades: 16.5%
• A* to B Grades: 32%
• A* to C Grades: 56%
• A* to E Grades: 94%

A message from Mr Wood and Mrs Anderson:

'We cannot begin to put into words how proud we are of our incredible Sixth Formers. They have worked so hard and have gleaned the harvest of their efforts. It was a joy today to see their diligence come to fruition. To say that we are going to miss this incredible cohort is an understatement, but we are excited to welcome them back in September for our prize giving evening, giving us one last chance to get the full Sixth Form family back together again.'

A huge congratulations to our Year 7 girls who won the recent rounders tournament and represented the School brilliantly. It has been a busy few weeks in the Geography Department.
Firstly, 120 year 10 students went to collect their Physical Geography fieldwork data in Seaford. They measured the effectiveness of the coastal management in protecting the town. They worked in teams to create beach profiles and groyne drop analysis. They will all be heading to Stratford, East London, next week to finish their Human fieldwork data collection, on the success of regeneration in the area. This will prepare the students to answer fieldwork questions in their GCSE Geography Paper 3 exam.
This week, our Year 12 Geographers have been along the Dorset coastline to collect data for their NEA investigations. Each student has devised their own investigation, and students have been absolutely fantastic in collecting their data around Durdle Door, Swanage, Weymouth and the River Piddle. A huge thank you to Mr Wilson for his support in making this trip possible.

On Tuesday, 9th June 2026, our Year 12 Sports Leaders had the fantastic opportunity to support the Harlequins Tag Rugby Festival at the Twickenham Stoop.
Working with over 100 students from schools across London, our students took on a variety of leadership roles, including refereeing matches, organising activities, and ensuring the event ran smoothly throughout the day. Their professionalism, enthusiasm, and commitment helped create a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants.
The students demonstrated outstanding leadership, communication, and organisational skills, acting as excellent role models for the younger children. Their efforts had a significant impact on the success of the festival and contributed to an inspiring day of sport and teamwork.
We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented the School and the positive difference they made to the lives of so many young people.

Despite facing strong competition, the team showed excellent skill in both batting and fielding, working cohesively to secure a well-earned second place. Their positive attitude and resilience were evident in every match, as they supported one another and stayed focused under pressure. Well done girls!
