Adult day programs and their effects on individuals with dementia and their caregivers (ADAPT-DemCare): a realist synthesis to develop program theories on the how and why - Systematic Reviews 04/07/2026

πŸ’œ Do you have, or know, a loved one living with dementia?

Did you know that attending a specialist dementia day centre can do much more than provide a day out? Research has shown that regular attendance at dementia day services can improve quality of life, reduce loneliness, encourage social interaction, support memory and thinking skills through cognitive activities, and even help some people remain living at home for longer.

At GREYsMATTER, we offer a warm, welcoming environment where every day is filled with meaningful cognitive activities, companionship and fun, all tailored to people living with dementia.

For Β£75 per day, we provide:
🧠 A structured programme of cognitive and therapeutic activities
🍽️ A freshly prepared lunch
❀️ Compassionate, experienced staff
😊 Friendship, laughter and a safe, supportive environment

If you’re caring for someone with dementia and would like to find out how we could help, we’d love to chat.

Adult day programs and their effects on individuals with dementia and their caregivers (ADAPT-DemCare): a realist synthesis to develop program theories on the how and why - Systematic Reviews Background Adult day programs aim to facilitate aging in place by supporting the health and well-being of persons with dementia and providing respite to their caregivers. Hi all you friendly followers of GREYsMATTER. Here we are in October already.

We have had a couple of visits from Deacon Alan which were much appreciated. Two of our members took communion this morning which was a first for the centre. We've been mixing up Friday lunch with our local chip shop and The Swan. We are very grateful that both are on our doorstep.

We have been doing crafts, playing games, testing everyone's recall with our quizzes and our battery of table top games.

A few of our Friday bunch are doing christmas decorations as I write. Before we know it christmas will be upon us and Deacon Alan has already penned us in his diary for our christmas buffet on the 6th December.

We have a few new members since the last post and sadly a couple have been in hospital long term. Hopefully we'll be able to welcome them back soon.

If anybody is near by, we have a load of novels, mainly thrillers, in the lobby that are free to a good home (some never read). Please feel free to pop by and take what you want.

Till next time, hope you all stay well.

Regards, all at GREYsMATTER.

🌻Erm πŸ‘€ what happened to April?! We're already over half way through May.
So ...... Firstly we would like to say a very sad farewell to Rev. Paul Graham of Clare Baptist Church who is moving on to pastures new - For the last 3 years we have had the pleasure of Pauls company both as a minister and as a dear friend to all - He hasn't just delivered services to us but has been so much more - mucking in with dinner service, lunch hosting duties, a sympathetic listener and counsel for club members and staff alike - Paul you will be sorely missed but we wish you, Vicky and family all the very best for the future - Your new parish are very lucky to be getting you πŸ™

We have had a lot of fun upcycling redundant plates with Decoupaging - our clients have gained a new crafting skill and thoroughly enjoyed themselves- see photos ‡️
We have played games old and new
Hangman, cards, shut the box and more recently 'Fling-a-Ring'
A warm welcome to our newest Club Members and a sad farewell to few that have moved to other abodes.
Please give us a call to arrange a visit or Free Taster Day for yourself or your loved one if you think you/they may benefit from our service. 🌻

We had a wonderful service with Rev Paul of Clare Baptist Church
Where we discussed hobbies and interests and sang some hymns.
We had a lovely visit from Mark Woodrow of St Peter and St Paul church, Clare, Suffolk where we chatted about our day to day lives.

😊We are so blessed to have them both in the lives of Greys Matter Daycentre and always enjoy their visits 😊
And are looking forward to meeting Father George from Clare Priory next month.

We would also like to announce that we will be opening on Thursdays in the very near future.

(Please excuse the crammed post - we are just catching up with ourselves πŸ™)
