This week we have been celebrating world book day. The children have enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book characters, taking on different roles in their play and have welcomed props to support and extend their imagination. The children have been enjoying learning about the structure of books, looking closely at the details such as author and illustrator as well as developing their knowledge of phonics 📖

Pancake day! 😍🥞
Today the children have had pancakes for their snack, they have been busy making their own pancakes with delicious toppings and learning new mathematical language as they measure out their ingredients. This has promoted independence and has opened up conversations about healthy eating, balanced diets and provided an opportunity to try different textures. 🤩

This week the children have been celebrating Valentines Day, they have had some lovely conversations about people who are special to them and have discussed ways we can be kind to one another. The children have been busy creating cards, biscuits and making their own playdough to explore ❤️💐

On a pirate ship
Pre school enjoyed sharing the 'on a pirate ship' story extending on this they created their own pirate ship using the junk modelling. They then made their very own telescopes to search for treasure and decided to make some maps to find the location of the treasure. Developing their role play they used the telescopes to explore their nursery and kept a watchful eye from the conservatory window for any incoming pirates. ⛵️📿🏺

Today during garden time the children were learning about the weather, extending on this they made some wintery pictures using various materials, they had some lovely conversations about seasons and their past experiences through them ☃️❄️🌦☀️🍂
