The Viniyoga of Yoga

The Viniyoga of Yoga Paul Harvey was a pupil of TKV Desikachar in Chennai for over 25 years.

At home in the English Cotswolds Hills, Paul promotes Learning Yoga Practice and Study One-to-One, whether for personal recovery, self development or professional application and outreaches through his Viniyoga Journal and Yoga Freenotes online resources. Travelling to study individually with his teacher on more than 30 visits, he deepened his personal and professional understanding through Yoga Practice and Theory around Āsana, Prāṇāyāma, Mudrā and Dhyāna, as well as Vedic Chanting and Mantra, and Saṃskṛta for Sacred Texts on Sāṃkhya, Yoga Sūtra, Bhagavad Gītā and the Upaniṣad. Alongside studying Yoga within this traditional setting, he explored the relationship of Yoga as a Therapy through Āyurveda and Pulse Diagnosis with TKV Desikachar, and undertook personal lessons on the philosophy and practical application of Āyurveda with the Principal of the Venkataramana Āyurveda College, KS Viswanatha Sarma. Later, to compliment both his knowledge of Ayurveda in itself, and as a potential lifestyle support in the transmission of Yoga within a Western context and setting, he trained as a Practitioner in Western Medical Herbalism and undertook extensive training in Core Process Psychotherapy and Transpersonal Psychology. For over five decades, Paul has offered Yoga as Tuition or Therapy for individual students or clients, and trained Professional Practitioners in all aspects of Yoga Practice and Textual Studies, including Vedic Chanting and Mantra, within the UK, as well as on teaching visits to the USA, Canada, Israel, India and across Europe. Currently based in the English Cotswold landscapes, he offers Yoga to individuals for personal development or for professional application, both live and online, and outreaches through his daily blog posts and Yoga Studies online resources website.
