WINNERS!
The Crypt School has won (jointly with Cranleigh School) the award for Inclusive SEN Provision at Education Choices Magazine Awards! We are delighted our small and dedicated SEN team and wider school has been recognised in this way.
The judges recognised that all pupils flourish at The Crypt School with support from a small SEN team led by a qualified SENDCo and Deputy SENDCo, and with dedicated Teaching Assistants who support pupils one-to-one inside, and outside lessons. Pupils have individual Student Support Plans which include areas they need support with, and strategies for teachers, but importantly they also include information about pupil strengths and interests so all pupils can be seen, supported, and celebrated as individuals. Pupils are supported to access a range of opportunities and achieve highly, for example being finalist in the Fame Lab science public speaking competition, playing first team rugby, netball and participating in choir, orchestra and other music events which include trips abroad. There are also smaller events The Crypt School sends teams to, for example a bowling event the local authority - The Crypt School team won with much enthusiasm! Many SEN pupils progress to Oxbridge and other Russell Group universities and competitive apprenticeships. Pupils don’t just access the curriculum at The Crypt School - they excel.
