Smiles, Tears & Top Grades: Stroud High Students Celebrate GCSE Success

What a fantastic morning at Stroud High School as we welcomed our Year 11 students and their families to collect their GCSE results. The Sports Hall was filled with smiles, hugs, happy tears and plenty of proud moments.

We are delighted to celebrate another exceptional set of results. This year, 22% of all grades awarded were Grade 9, the highest grade available at GCSE. More than half of all grades (51%) were awarded at Grades 9-8, while almost three-quarters (74%) were awarded at Grades 9-7.

We’re especially proud that…
👏 62.3% of students achieved 7+ Grades 9-7
👏 51.3% achieved 8+ Grades 9-7
👏 33.8% achieved 9+ Grades 9-7

These results reflect years of hard work, determination and resilience. While the statistics are impressive, it is the individual stories, personal successes and goals achieved that matter most.

Thank you to our staff, parents and carers for your unwavering support. Most importantly, congratulations to our incredible Year 11 students. Today is your day, and you should be immensely proud of everything you have accomplished.

We look forward to welcoming many students back to Stroud High Sixth Form in September, and wish every member of the year group success and happiness in their next chapter.

Fantastic A Level Results for a Truly Special Year Group

Stroud High School students are celebrating a remarkable set of A Level results, with almost half of all grades awarded at A-A and more than three-quarters at A-B.**

Students at Stroud High School are celebrating a stunning set of A Level results, with 17% of grades awarded at A*, 49% at A*-A, 78% at A*-B, and 44% of students achieving AAB or better.

But, as ever, the results only tell part of the story. This has been a truly special year group. Alongside achieving outstanding academic outcomes, they have embraced every aspect of school life. They completed Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards in record numbers, lit up the stage in this year’s production of Come From Away, raised more than £13,000 for Stroud Women’s Refuge through RAG Week, performed in music concerts in Liverpool and Bruges, presented at education conferences in South Korea, competed in regional debating and national translation competitions in modern foreign languages, completed Gold CREST environmental projects, supported over 100 primary school lessons through the year, excelled in STEM olympiads, and helped lead the rich programme of house events that sits at the heart of the school community.
