It’s been a wild week!! Between saying goodbye to some of our children who have left us this week (we will miss them all SO much… but apparently they have to go to school 😂😂😂 boooo!) and Ofsted, it’s been quite the week!!! 😅

The feedback you have given us has honestly been incredible to read, and the lovely gifts, cards and kind words from our leavers have meant more to us than you’ll ever know. 🥹❤️ We honestly cannot thank you enough!

It’s been such an emotional week, but we are so, so proud of every single one of our children and feel incredibly lucky that we get to be such a big part of their little lives. 🥰

We really are so lucky to have the most amazing families. Parents & children, we genuinely appreciate you all so much! ❤️

We’ve had such a lovely week this week… but it’s definitely been a HOT one! ☀️🥵

🏴‍☠️ Monday – Pirate Party!
We kicked off the week with our Pirate Party! We did LOTS of dancing 💃 and played some brilliant party games, including Musical Starfish ⭐️.

The children decorated their very own pirate swords ⚔️ before setting off on an exciting treasure hunt! They worked together following the clues until they finally found the treasure! 🗺️💰🏴‍☠️

🧚‍♀️ Tuesday – Nunnington Hall
On Tuesday we headed over to Nunnington Hall for a gorgeous day in the sunshine ☀️. We enjoyed a picnic in the gardens before getting stuck into lots of lovely fairy-tale-themed outdoor activities.

The children had great fun with Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage races 🎃 and Robin Hood’s archery practice 🏹. We also played badminton, had lots of races, explored the dressing-up box in the gardens and enjoyed some lovely outdoor painting 🎨🌿.

We finished our visit with a trip to the Lion’s Den play area for even more running, climbing and exploring before heading home!

🏖️ Wednesday – Bridlington Beach
With another hot day forecast, we decided there was only one place to be… the seaside! 🌊☀️

We had such a lovely day with plenty of time for sandcastle building, paddling in the sea and even kite flying on the beach! 🪁 The children had a yummy lunch of fish and chips, followed by ice creams and lollies to help us cool down 🍦😋.

We also received lots of lovely comments from people about how well behaved the children were, which was so nice to hear. As always, we were incredibly proud of how they behaved throughout the whole day ❤️.

⛳️ Thursday – Mini Golf & Summer Trail
Thursday was a very, very hot one! 🥵☀️ So we set off nice and early to enjoy some mini golf and outdoor games at the Designer Outlet before it got too warm.

Once the temperature started rising, we escaped inside into the air conditioning – thank goodness for air con! 😂❄️ We then completed the summer trail, searching around the outlet for six hidden seagulls 🐦

We’ve had another lovely, busy week at Mini Explorers! 🥰

Monday 🪻

We enjoyed a beautiful day at Yorkshire Lavender, exploring the fields, spotting bees and butterflies 🐝🦋 and talking about pollinators. The children also loved the sandpit, mud kitchen, giant dominoes and outdoor play.

Tuesday 🎨

A more chilled day in the setting with lots of child-led play! The older children enjoyed Lego building, while the younger children explored cars, Mega Bloks and sensory play. Some of the children also got creative making their own colourful bug masks 🐞.

Wednesday 🚂

A train-filled day! We started with our wooden train track before heading to the National Railway Museum. The children had a great time with Trainmaster North & East Yorkshire and they loved building tracks, exploring the trains, watching the model railway and enjoying lots of imaginative play.

Thursday 🌱

We finished the week with a trip to Lotherton Hall. The Punch and Judy show was a huge hit 😂, followed by exploring the gardens and enjoying the summer activities, including carnival games, sand play, space hoppers and badminton! 🎪🏸

Another week full of adventures, learning and lots of fun! ❤️

Unfortunately, due to a last-minute cancellation, we now have an immediate childcare space available for Monday to Wednesday.

It’s very rare that we have a space like this become available, so we expect this space to fill quickly. We will be contacting families on our waiting list to see if anyone still requires a space for September, we are also open to new enquiries.

What a lovely week we’ve had!! 🌿💚

We’ve enjoyed a trip to the library, spent time at Haxby Flower Meadow picking beautiful wildflowers, and today we’ve finished the week with two very special outings. Our younger explorers had a fantastic day at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, while some of our children who will soon be leaving us enjoyed a special “grown-up” day with a trip to the cinema followed by lunch at Prezzo. 🍿🦁🍕❤️

We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend, and we can’t wait for more fun next week! ☀️

🌟 Weekly Round-Up 🌟

What a fantastic week we’ve had! It’s been another busy one, full of adventures, learning and fun. Here’s what we’ve been up to…

🎢 Monday

We kicked off the week with our first end-of-term trip to Lightwater Valley! The children all took turns enjoying some of the rides, and we had such a fantastic day together. One of the favourites was definitely the Caterpillar Rollercoaster! 🎢

We’re looking forward to taking the other half of the children in setting next week so everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy a special day out.

🧺 Tuesday

We met up with our friends from Precious Moment’s Childminding - Huntington, York for a lovely trip to the park and a picnic. It was lovely for all of the children to play together and have lots of fun on the park in the sunshine. When we returned home, we had circle time where some of the children proudly shared photographs from their holidays, telling their friends all about their adventures.

🐑 Wednesday

We enjoyed a fantastic trip to Murton Park. The children loved visiting all of the animals before spending lots of time playing together in the sunshine. One of the highlights of the day was definitely the huge sandpit, where everyone had great fun digging, building and exploring together! We also completed an alphabet trail, practising our letter recognition as we searched for letters around the park. The children did a brilliant job ✏️

⚽ Thursday

It was certainly a hot one! We started the day by writing a letter of support to the England football team 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 The children were so excited to wish them luck ahead of the weekend’s match and tell them all our recent football themed activities! We even walked to the post box to send it off!

To cool down on the way home, we made a cheeky stop at the shop for some ice creams and ice lollies, which were very well deserved in the warm weather.

Before lunch we transformed our gazebo into our very own Mini Explorers Restaurant! The children took turns being customers, chefs, waitresses and cashiers, ordering meals, taking payments and serving food. They also practised their mark making and early writing skills by creating menus, writing orders and recording customers’ choices, all whilst developing their communication, imagination and teamwork through role play.

We finished the day with circle time outside in the shade, where the children shared their achievements from the week. Some of the children also continued sharing their holiday photographs as part of our ‘Holidays’ theme, enjoying listening to each other’s stories and experiences.
