💙 POST MATERNITY LEAVE 💙

I am slowly returning to work post maternity leave and am excited to announce that I have tailored my business to now focus on home school studies ❤

Do you home school your child and want a 1:1 intensive weekly check in? This service will happen during "school hours" and can focus on any subject/ multiple subjects to ensure that your child is reaching their capabilities.

I am a fully qualified teacher and very experienced 1.1 tutor and have worked with many home schooled children. I have the ability to offer teaching services for any subjects from EYFS- key stage 3 (year 8) and will tailor a programme specifically for your child and ensure they are meeting home school criteria and excelling in their studies.

🙏 Let's talk post covid education 🙏

Firstly, you've done a fabulous job home schooling. Whether that involved you throwing yourself headfirst into a structured timetable and becoming an 'official teacher of the house', or whether you 'winged it' through the lockdown one on a hope and a prayer- YOU DID GOOD.

Your child will be fine. As teachers we are trained to teach and trained to assess pupils on where they are and how we can help. As parents, you did the best you could whilst keeping their other needs met- safe, happy, secure and well fed.

Now that we are back at school, its easy to try and put it behind us, but the sad truth is, we are seeing anxious children, worried about their education, worried about exams, worried about where they are in relation to classmates. We are also seeing anxious parents, awaiting updates, scouring reports for levels and predicted grades.

I dont support this.

But what I do support is the children: turning anxiety into confidence. Changing the way they perceive their abilities and changing the way they approach future lessons- with confidence and excitement.

I have many years experience in mainstream and SEN education from age 4-14 and would love to help. I am currently developing my online support and am developing an online programme where you can watch pre recorded sessions and complete tasks to help build confidence for a fraction of a cost of classic tutoring.

Diary is opening shortly for 1 and 2 hour preparation courses for children aged 4-11 for the end of August. If you're concerned about the level of schooling missed over the covid pandemic, drop a message to find out how an hour or two at the end of summer could ensure they start the new academic year with confidence. There are very limited spaces. 1:1 or paired (same year group) sessions available.

One day your child will have a job. A profession. Be a citizen of the world and responsible for their own decisions. Building the foundations now will have an impact on who they become in this world and directly impact their success and self belief, chasing their dreams and reaching their potential. It really is true when people use the expression "Rome wasn't built in a day". Tutoring is a fantastic supplement to both school and homeschool education and using a step by step, tailored approach, the little acorns will become a mighty oak, filled with knowledge and wisdom. Confidence and enjoyment in learning is paramount to my ethos, with a self reflective traffic light system during sessions to help me evaluate and tailor the next session, ensuring we take the next small step every time.

It's true. No-one is perfect, we all make mistakes. What's important is the process. Sometimes we need to fail in order to grow, develop and eventually succeed. Stepping stones tutoring is all about trying, developing, asking questions, addressing misconceptions in prior learning and moving forward. Perhaps your child lacks confidence. Perhaps they had a test that didn't go so well. Perhaps they need some 1:1 time where they can try, try and try again without worrying about their classmates noticing how many times they try. We all get there in the end, it really is about the process.

Now taking bookings for Summer holiday pre-sessional tutoring! Book now to avoid disappointment!

Pre- sessional tutoring is all about building your child's confidence ahead of the new school year. During these sessions we look at the new topics that will be covered in core subjects, allowing your child to explore the topics, in a safe, stimulating, quiet and positive environment. Its also a chance to round off the year they are leaving and address any misconceptions in their topics so that they have a solid foundation from which to build. They focus on the new term, and together we build a bridge between the old year and the new year, making that step, with confidence and excitement!

This is available to all year groups including EYFS, so if your little one is about to start school, this may be a perfect first step into the world of school,learning to write their name and be confident with their new environment.

I am also offering 2:1 and 3:1 sessions for this so if you have friends with children going into the same year you can share the cost of this together, and they can learn with their friends!

Education for children is all about playing along in their world. A good tutor can grasp what makes that individual engaged, knows each child's interests and learning style and adpats their own teaching to suit this. Childrens brains are like sponges and even just one hour a week of focused time spent on one or two aspects will make a huge difference to their future attainment. Education isn't built in one day, and little by little, piece by piece I can and will help your child have a passion for learning and a drive for success.
