New Intake Evening

Dear All,

Due to the extreme heat over the next few days, we shall be postponing our Intake Evening this Thursday.

We can however confirm that this will now take place this coming Monday (29th June) instead, this will remain as a 6.30pm start.

We encourage all parents to attend, however we kindly ask that you try to avoid bringing children. We are aware that this cannot always be avoidable, and if there is no alternative childcare then please do bring them.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact either myself or the school office. Please be aware however that the school will now be shut until Monday, so replies may be slower than usual.

Updated information - Extreme Heat information for Hindhayes
Dear All

As you may have seen; we are now part of a red weather warning with temperatures predicted to rise up to 40 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday. Following the actions of other schools in the area with whom we share families; we have also made the decision to close on Wednesday and Thursday. We hope by giving you advance notice, arrangements can be made for childcare.

The temperatures are not predicted to be as high today and so a softer start and end of the day (as already communicated) will still be in place. We will also regulate activities and seek spaces around school with air conditioning for a cooling down break where needed. We understand some of you may choose to keep your children at home tomorrow but school will be open.

We are also planning to make a change to the menu and replacing our hot food offer with a picnic style packed lunch meal today.

If you have a hot meal booked and are happy with the sandwich option you do not need to contact us. However, if you would like to provide a home packed lunch instead of the sandwich meal, please email the school office to let us know [email protected]

We hope that this action helps to keep everyone, including staff safe and wish everyone a safe and healthy return to school on Monday 30th June (please remember that Friday is an INSET day).
