Follow for free support!πŸ‘‹πŸΌ Hello πŸ‘‹ lovely to meet you! My name is Lauren ⭐️

I am a maths tutor who specialises in confidence building so students are ready to pass their GCSE πŸ”’

I have been a maths tutor full-time now for almost 3 years after completing my teaching degree with a maths specialism at university πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸŽ“

The main things I hel

p my students with are...

⭐️ building their confidence in maths so they feel comfortable to tackle complex topics and tricky questions,

⭐️ revising the basics to ensure they have a strong foundation,

⭐️ learning maths strategies through interactive games and activities so students can rediscover their love of maths. Ways you can work with me:

πŸ”ΉοΈ 1-1,
πŸ”ΉοΈ small group classes,
πŸ”ΉοΈ one-off courses.

Happy 50th Anniversary Aardman πŸ₯³

I grew up watching all the classics... wallace & gromit, chicken run, flushed away even morph! 🫢

Who's your favourite Aardman character?

There's soo many scientific calculators out there!

And some of them are CRAZY expensive!

Your child definitely doesn't need the most expensive calculator, but the cheapest option may not be very good either πŸ‘Ž

Sometimes it depends on where you buy the calculator from that determines the price so I definitely recommend shopping around πŸ›

*These are the current prices in Tesco as of 31/08/2026

I always recommend Casio Education calculators as I personally think they're the best ⭐️

But if you are looking at other brands just make sure...

πŸ”ΉοΈ it has a fraction button,

πŸ”ΉοΈthe fraction button looks like an actual fraction!

You want to make sure your child's calculator is going to be not only easy to use but extra helpful during assessments and this button in particular will certainly make a difference with that! ✏️

Feel free to ask any calculator questions in the comments ⬇️ or ask about any other resources your child will need (or not need!)

I can absolutely relate!

Maths wasn't my strongest subject at all.

I was in set 4 out of 8.

I was predicted to "just" pass.

No one believed in me.

So I became my own cheerleader πŸŽ‰

I worked my blimin' a** off

I built up my own confidence

& showed my teachers that I was capable of so much more πŸ’ͺ

I'm a typical Capricorn 🐐 very stubborn and love to prove people wrong πŸ˜‚

As a full-time maths tutor of nearly 6 years it's now my goal to be that cheerleader for your child πŸ™Œ

To show them that they CAN do maths... that they CAN smash their exams...that they ARE capable🀩

*The Learn. Confidence. Maths Club is for foundation students aiming to achieve a level 4 or 5 in their GCSE*

Limited spaces are available as I want to make sure I can give every member the full support they need...

when the spaces are full, they're full for the year...

so if you want to know more about the LCMC and how it can help your child in their final year at school, send me a message or an email today! πŸ“§

Working 4 till 7:15 🎢 doesn't quite have the same ring to it πŸ™ˆ

But its that time to share my new group class timetable for September! πŸ₯³

The summer has gone far too quickly (as always!)

My group classes are delivered via zoom and welcome a maximum of 5 students per class so your child will still get lots of individual support from me without feeling like they're being put on the spot 😊

We play lots of games and other activities to make the learning fun and memorable 🎲

Students are also welcome to keep their cameras off if that makes them feel more comfortable πŸ“·

Year 11 foundation classes are just one thing that is included as part of my gcse maths support programme (Learn. Confidence. Maths Club) 🀩

To find out more about my group classes or the Learn. Confidence. Maths Club send me a message!

Its International Dog Day! 🐾

And you all know how much my dogs mean to me, they are my actual children 🫢

They bring so much joy and love not just to me ❀️ but to my students. They really are part of the tuition package πŸ“¦

πŸ“£ GCSE results day is today! πŸ“£

Is your young person collecting their results today?

If yes, then I'm sure they're feeling a little apprehensive to say the least 😬

All I remember about my GCSE results day is opening my results in the car with my mum πŸš—

And being so happy when I saw the A in maths that I'd worked really blimin' hard for! 🀩

Then I volunteered to decorate a local mother and child support centre as part of the National Citizenship Service (NCS) for the rest of the afternoon like nothing had happened 🎨

But if you're feeling super nervous, here's some things you can do to make results day a little less... meh πŸ’ͺ🏼

1. Say positive affirmations to yourself in the mirror- my favourite is "you're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and loved more than you know" Breathing therapy also works for a lot of people✌🏼

2. Call a friend or family member- they're always the best people to make you feel better (my no 1 is my nanny) πŸ“ž

3. Celebrate- do this regardless! Whatever your results you've worked hard to get where you are today ⭐ Lots of places offer free food/drinks on results day so make sure to check out the deals!

4. Ask for advice- this might be a teacher, a tutor, an older sibling anyone who has recently been through the results day process so they can guide you through the day πŸ«‚

5. Have a plan- if things don't go the way you hope it's good to have a Plan B and know your next steps to avoid extra stress and anxiety on the day ✏️

6. Cuddle a pet- my favourite thing to do πŸΎπŸ•

What do you do to feel supported when you're anxious?

Good luck with your GCSE results tomorrow! ⭐️

I'll be thinking of you all πŸ™

Even though I picked up my results 11 years ago! I still remember the nervous belly feeling πŸ¦‹

I still feel it now for my students!

To my students, you will be in my thoughts tomorrow. I can't wait to hear how got you on (the good, the bad, the ugly I'll be here for you 🫢)

Here's my favourite quote for you to keep in your minds:

"You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and loved more than you know"

And no exam result shows any of this. Not even the "smart" part!

I will anxiously be waiting by my phone to celebrate with you, cry with you, cheer with you, answer your questions, scream, listen... anything you need πŸ€—

Good luck! πŸ€

Something for the parents/guardians...

If you're still stuck on the old grading system, hopefully this helps ✏️

I almost forgot to share...

I have been shortlisted for an Outstanding Woman in Education Award 2026 with The Women's Awards πŸ₯³

I always feel forever grateful for opportunities like this especially as someone who feels very strongly about giving everyone an equal opportunity to a high quality education and to never doubt someone's potential based on their background ✏️

But it is the success, academic or personal, of my students that will forever be the most rewarding part of what I do ⭐️
