Along with the Sound System,Al is exhibiting his thesis done whilst at College in London in which he has drawn on eg.themes of State Control over the years by way of Masks and Legislation to control Music and Dance as well as his philosophy on such topics as the repitition of the format of composition over the centuries in artwork.

“edgesbreaksky” is the name Michael Gallacher who is exhibiting his on canvas at the Lonely Arts Club art exhibition (open tomorrow and Tuesday) at Creative Academy, has given to the which he has been making on his phone for around 15 years.

Sometimes it ends up being simple repeating patterns. Other times, it becomes an asymmetrical mashup.

Michael has had a lifelong obsession with and the shape of the land.

He has been picking up rocks from and from an early age. This interest led him to study at the University of Glasgow.

He tries always to include elements of nature in his pieces
Work will start off from a photograph that he has taken when out and about. They then get mixed up, broken then overlaid with others.

A selection of Michael’s prints are on sale at the LAC Exhibition for £25 + postage.

We particularly like his “Blue Ocean” print.

The back of the class is often the fun place to be …and so it proves,at the Gym Hall in Inverness Creative Academy where Gerda and Freydr, Cecilia Mann ‘s Mythical Creatures enjoy the rhythms of Al’s fascinating Music Deck.

Gerda,Goddess of The Earth,Fertility and Seasons (she’s the one with the big head) and her husband,Freydr,God of Fertility,Prosperity and Peace (he’s the smaller one) were created by Cecilia some years ago for a Glenmorangie project and have lived with her ever since. She’d now like to find another good home for them.

Made as wire sculptures overlaid with plaster and textile, they are a quirky pair and would be the perfect interior pieces for a large house, hotel or entertainment venue.

Al built his Pioneer Sync sound system himself using SYNC software which allows DJs to mix music as they go,without relying as previously,on prefabricated sets.

All three pieces are currently on display and for sale at the Lonely Arts Club Art Exhibition, tomorrow,Monday and Tuesday.
