This week, Alveston Cygnets enjoyed making their own pizzas! They practised their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination by spreading the tomato sauce and carefully sprinkling cheese on top. This helped to develop their hand control, coordination and precision. While making our pizzas, we also talked about healthy choices and the importance of enjoying a balanced diet. It was a fun and engaging way to learn through hands-on play! We then enjoyed tasting our creations at lunch 🍕

This week at Alveston Cygnets, our focus has been on Personal, Social and Emotional Development, with lots of engaging activities centred around ‘The Colour Monster’. Our Colour Monster-themed activities have developed the children’s understanding and knowledge of different emotions, learning to recognise and talk about how they are feeling through lots of sensory play.

This week at Broad Street Cygnets, the children have been exploring colours and how they can represent different emotions. Together, they have been reading ‘The Colour Monster’ and using the story as a starting point to talk about their own feelings and recognise the emotions of others.

Over the past few weeks at Alveston Cygnets, we have been focusing on Expressive Arts and Design. We have had lots of creative, messy play activities that have encouraged the children to express themselves, explore their imagination, and build their confidence. This week, our focus has been Communication and Language, helping the children to develop their vocabulary, listening skills, and confidence when speaking.
