Yesterday, our Children’s Centre enjoyed a fantastic day in the sunshine at Agnew Park 🌞

The children had the opportunity to try the accessible bikes provided by Wigtownshire 'Stuff' and had a brilliant time exploring and taking part in the activity.

A huge thank you to Wigtownshire ‘Stuff’ for providing this experience. We would encourage families to visit their page for information on future sessions, as we’re sure many children would love to take part again during the holidays.

The visit was rounded off with everyone enjoying an ice cream together.

Primary 4 had a fantastic day at Kitchen Coos & Ewes!

The children thoroughly enjoyed the trailer ride and loved learning all about the cows from Janet.

A particular highlight of the visit was meeting the calves, with children having the opportunity to pet them and watch them being fed.

Yesterday, children in P6 and P7 welcomed Rebecca from Quit Your Way (NHS) for an informative session on va**ng, helping children to better understand the risks and make informed choices.

Miss Laurie’s P6 class also welcomed Anne Ferguson from Skills Development Scotland to learn more about meta-skills and how we use them in real-life contexts.

Through a range of interactive activities and job-based scenarios, children explored the important skills needed for learning, life and work, identifying the meta-skills they already use in everyday situations.

Mrs Smith & Mrs Stevenson took their classes to visit a local garden yesterday morning.

Mr & Mrs Adams were wonderful hosts and the children had crisps and juice before exploring the garden.

Everyone had a brilliant morning and thought the garden was a fantastic place to visit. The children were impressed with the great variety of plants and beautiful colours on display.

Mr & Mrs Adams were very impressed with how mannerly, respectful and well-behaved the children were - a real credit to Belmont Primary School!

P5 and P5/6 also got to spend a little time playing at Stair Park before returning to school. They had a fantastic morning! 🌺

Thank you to the many family members who have already purchased Summer Concert tickets.

As of Thursday at 12.30pm, we have a small number of tickets left for the two evening performances and plenty of tickets remaining for Thursday morning.

We are currently seeking raffle prizes for our three Summer Concert performances and our Summer Fun Night. Donations can be handed in to the school office at any time next week. Thank you for your continued support!

Thank you to those parents/carers who have already purchased tickets for our Summer Concert performances.

Now that all families have had an opportunity to purchase tickets (initially limited to two per family), any remaining tickets will be available to purchase on a first come, first served basis from tomorrow morning.

Families are reminded that Summer Concert tickets go on sale this week!

Parents/carers can purchase Summer Concert tickets from Monday 25 May. Please note the following:
- In the first instance, tickets will be limited to 2 adult tickets per family
- Tickets can be paid for and collected from the School Office/Reception Area on Monday 25 May, Tuesday 26 May and Wednesday 27 May, 8.45am-9.15am and 2.45pm-3.15pm
- Tickets are priced at £3
- Younger children are required to be seated in their own seat and will therefore also need a ticket - these tickets will be priced at £2 (for children up to 6 years old)
- Tickets for younger siblings can be purchased Monday-Wednesday (in addition to the initial 2 adult tickets)
- From Thursday 28 May, remaining tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis at any time from the School Office.

In Belmont Nursery, families regularly take part in our very popular and impactful Bookbug sessions, helping to foster a love of stories, songs and rhymes from an early age.

Following the continued success of this initiative, Mrs Wales was delighted to be invited to Scottish Book Trust in Edinburgh to help carefully select the stories for the 2027 Scottish Government Baby Box, as well as the Bookbug Baby Bag, Bookbug Toddler Bag and Explorer Bag.

It was a wonderful opportunity, and Mrs Wales would like to thank all of the children and families in Belmont Nursery whose feedback helped to inform such important decisions.
