Does your child have a special dietary requirement? Have you notified your child’s school about it?

Special diet applications should be completed when the diet is:
◾ medically prescribed eg food allergies
◾ religious or cultural reasons
◾ vegetarian or vegan

Parents/guardians/caregivers have a crucial role in providing these details to their child’s school. All special diets must be notified to the school using our Guidance for the provision of Special Diets in schools form. This form should be submitted when your child joins a school and/or starts taking school meals, or when your child is diagnosed with a medical condition or allergy/intolerance requiring an adjustment to their diet or how the food is served.

Upon receipt of the completed form for medically required diets, your school will contact you and facilitate a meeting with you, the school and the school’s catering manager. The arrangements for provision of your child’s meals will be discussed and agreed ahead of the special diet being provided.

A sincere thank you to Father Sean O’Donnell for celebrating Mass with our staff today to mark the beginning of the new school year.🙏

It was a very special Mass, celebrated in our school assembly hall, and a wonderful way for our school community to come together as we begin the year ahead.
A special thanks to our wonderful school staff who took part in the Mass today by reading and bringing up the gifts. 💜

Father Sean brought with him our new statues of Saint Carlo Acutis, one for both the Junior and Senior Site. The statues were blessed by Bishop Donal McKeown at a beautiful ceremony in Holy Cross College earlier this week.
Saint Carlo Acutis is a wonderful example to our children that holiness can be lived out in everyday life.🙏

We look forward to a blessed, happy and successful new school year together. 💜

♻️Need uniform items for back to school?♻️

✅Our uniform bank will be open on the Junior Site from 11a.m. to 1p.m. on Wednesday 26th August. You can also use the uniform bank on 27th and 28th August.

✅The uniform bank is for ALL our families. Its purpose is not only to reduce financial waste, but also to reduce waste in our environment.

✅You can use our uniform bank on the Junior Site, in confidence, at any time during the school year.

💜THANK YOU💜

Thank you to our PTFA who work behind the scenes, throughout the school year, to improve and enrich the experiences of all our pupils. This is a group of parents who volunteer their time and all the children benefit!

Their work doesn’t go unnoticed and without it, the children wouldn’t have such fantastic experiences at little or no cost to the school or parents.

💜We say a loud THANK YOU to our PTFA - we appreciate your time and work.

This year, amongst other things, St.Mary’s PTFA have:
✅ Paid for buses for end of year trips and residential 🚌
✅ Showed up as the Easter Bunny and provided eggs for the children. 🐣
✅ Provided a huge amount of prizes for our very successful Book Week. 📚
✅ Paid for buses for educational visits to Titanic Museum Belfast and The Folk Park 🚍
✅ Successfully secured sponsorship from local businesses for our raffle at our amazing production of Matilda. 🎭 Members were also there on the nights of the show to help with the draw.
✅ Support our Uniform Bank
✅ Secured ‘Set Up’ materials for growing our own potatoes and other vegetables in school.
