Strabane Shotokan karate club is a well known throughout Ireland for its high level karate. Karate is an excellent way to get fit, develop focus, determination, self awareness all whilst learning to defend yourself. We have classes to suit everyone and if you're looking to start, we have classes to suit all ages and abilities:

Monday and Wednesday:
6:30pm to 7:30pm (Juniors School Age P4 to -

P7) and
6.30pm to 7.30pm (Seniors 1st year to Adult)

Tuesday & Thursday
6.30pm to 7:30pm (Parent & Child together Ages 4+)

Our facility is custom built for Karate and located at Mopack Business Park, Ballycolman Road, Strabane, BT82 9PH. Karate is a great way to get active, keep fit, have fun and build character as well as improving focus, coordination and discipline. We hope everyone had a nice summer.
Our regular schedule returns this week commencing Tuesday.
Re the Tigers Sensei James is busy with wedding preparations but the class will continue with Sensei Simon until he is back in action in October.
New starts are welcome for all classes however preference will be given to existing members if numbers are tight.

Strabane man Jim O'Neill has just been awarded the 2026 Billy Deacon Search and Rescue Memorial Trophy. The prestigious UK and Ireland accolade is for his bravery as a winchman and paramedic. Jim's actions helped save a crew of 14 from a beleagured fishing boat off the Kerry coast last December.

Jim has been talking to me at length about the whole remarkable episode. Today, midday on Foyle.
