A huge thank you to all of our Year 11 and Year 13 pupils and parents who attended our induction sessions as our pupils begin the next exciting stages of their educational journeys! 👏📚

The transition into Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 brings new opportunities, challenges and expectations. Success doesn’t happen by accident, it is built through good habits, hard work, organisation and consistency. 💪

By working together as pupils, parents and school, we can provide the support, encouragement and challenge needed to help every young person fulfil their potential.

What an excellent morning for our 2026–27 Prefects and Pupil Leadership Team! 🙌

Our fantastic group have been completing their OCN Level 2 Leadership Training, expertly facilitated by Barney from REACH Across Derry/Londonderry.

The engagement, enthusiasm and participation from our pupils throughout the morning has been outstanding. ⭐ Barney even commented on just how excellent our team of young people are — praise we are incredibly proud to hear! 👏

A brilliant start to their leadership journey, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact they will have across Strabane Academy this year! 💙

🌟 A wonderful start to the day at Strabane Academy as we welcomed the next generation of pupils through our doors! Looking fantastic in their crisp new uniforms, our newest students arrived full of excitement and ready to begin an exciting new chapter.

It was lovely to see so many smiles from both pupils and proud parents, creating a warm and positive atmosphere from the very start. 😊

Our pastoral team was on hand to welcome everyone, help settle those first-day nerves, and ensure every pupil got off to the best possible start. We are delighted to have them with us and are excited to support them throughout what promises to be a fantastic year ahead.

📣 Support available for families as new school year begins

The EA is reminding parents and carers that help and information is available as schools across Northern Ireland prepare to welcome pupils back for the new academic year.

A number of dedicated helplines are in place and further information and details of support are available through the EA website and social media channels. This covers a range of areas, including special educational needs (SEN), school transport, free school meals, uniform grants and admissions.

This is class! A huge congratulations to Donemana CC U15s on winning the All-Ireland Cup! 👏🔥

Even better… all bar one of the team are Strabane Academy pupils!

What an incredible achievement for the club and for these talented young players. We’re sure that when he sees how our pupils play their cricket, he’ll be wishing he was an Academy lad too! 😂
