Hazel class took part in the 'Take 10 to read' initiative aiming to set a new Guinness World Record title for the most people reading online in 12 hours. We listened to an author read her book and an illustrator taught us how to draw a character from her book. We then spent 10 minutes reading, along with schools across the globe. It was such an exciting event and we are looking forward to hearing whether we have helped to set a new Guinness World Record Title. .

We are excited to announce that our Book Fair will be in school on the following dates:

📚 Thursday 8th October
📚 Friday 9th October
📚 Monday 12th October

Please come along and support this exciting event. The Book Fair is a wonderful opportunity for children to discover new books and develop a love of reading.

Reading is one of the most important skills a child can learn. It helps to build vocabulary, improve imagination and creativity, develop concentration, and support learning across all areas of the curriculum. Most importantly, reading for pleasure can foster a lifelong love of books and learning.

We are pleased to confirm that on Thursday 1st October we will be offering every child in school a free school meal.

The Lunchtime Co are promoting the attached "Pirate Day" menu with the following options available:

Option 1: "Golden Nugget” Chicken Bites
or
Option 2: Sailor’s Vegetable Nuggets

Both options served with Potato Wedges, Sweetcorn “Coins”

Dessert will be:

Chocolate Sprinkle Treasure Cookies
Or
Fresh Fruit Pot

Dietary/medical options, jacket potatoes and school packed lunches with ham, cheese or tuna will also be available.

We hope that you will take up this offer of a free lunch and the children will enjoy their school meal.

We hope you and your families have had a fantastic summer break! We can’t wait to hear about the adventures and memories you have shared.

A very special welcome to our new Reception children and their families! We are so excited to meet you and begin this important journey together. Our Reception team will be there to look after the children, help them settle in and make sure they feel safe, happy and cared for as they get to know their new surroundings. We would also like to say hello to all our new Reception parents and carers, we look forward to getting to know you and working closely with you throughout the year.

We are really looking forward to welcoming every child back to school tomorrow. Whether you are feeling excited, nervous or a little bit of both, remember that you are part of our school community, and we are here to support you as you settle back into school life. As you move up into your new year groups, we will support and help you settle in, ensuring you feel happy, confident and ready for the year ahead.

🌳 From all of us here at Freeman, we’d like to wish everyone a wonderful, restful, and well-deserved summer break!
