Year 1 had their final Forest School session of the year, making the most of the outdoors. The children enjoyed a fun follow-the-leader game with their eyes closed, using their other senses to guide them. The children were busy birdwatching, hammering, building dens and even performing as pop stars on the stage. Working in pairs, the children particularly enjoyed taking part in a scavenger hunt, demonstrating great teamwork. It was a wonderful way to celebrate a successful term of Forest School learning and adventure.

Year 1 have been busy in Forest School making elderflower cordial and enjoying it with sparkling water, finding caterpillars, a frog and stag beetles, and using leaves to print butterfly pictures. The forest has been a wonderful relief from the intense sunshine, and perfect for building dens and making pop up coffee shops.

π Rounders Tournament Success! π
A special congratulations to our Year 5 team at the U11 CET Trust Tournament. The team won both of their games on Thursday to secure a place in the final and played exceptionally well throughout the competition. In a very close finish, they narrowly missed out on the trophy, losing by just half a rounder.
We are incredibly proud of all the children for their teamwork, determination, and excellent sportsmanship. π

π Hot Weather Update π
We are aware of the high temperatures forecast over the coming days and would like to reassure parents and carers that we currently have no plans to close the school.
We are taking a number of measures to keep children as comfortable as possible, including:
β’ Keeping classrooms cool by closing blinds where appropriate
β’ Encouraging regular water breaks throughout the day
β’ Making use of shaded areas during outdoor activities
β’ Adapting activities where necessary to minimise time spent in the heat
For the remainder of the week, we will not be carrying out active PE lessons and will instead provide alternative activities that are more suitable for the current temperatures.
Please ensure your child comes to school with a named water bottle and suitable sun protection, including a hat and sunscreen applied before the school day where needed.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep parents and carers informed should there be any changes.
Thank you for your continued support.
