Welcome to Expialidocious Childminding, my name is Katy Morley. I have lived on Cedars Park since 2005. I live with my two children. I have an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, A Level 3 in Home based Childcare, Early Years First Aid and Safeguarding Children. I have been working in childcare since 2001. The first 6 years I worked in nursery’s caring for children aged 3 months to 12 years. Initially as a nursery nurse at Cherry Trees Montessori Nursery and then as a senior nursery nurse at Just Learning Nursery. I went on to become a private nanny for 8 years working for families in their own homes. In that time I cared for children aged 5 weeks to 13 years. My aim is to blend both of these experiences together to provide the personal care of a nanny and the learning experiences and activities of a nursery. I will ensure it is a personal loving setting for all the children, providing the time and attention to their individual needs and development. I want my home to become a second home for all the children in my care where they can feel safe, secure and happy. I provide age appropriate toys accessible to all the children. Creating lots of space for play as well as areas to relax and rest. I believe sensory experiences and arts and crafts are also a very important part of learning and developing as well as being great fun. I will ensure all the children have the chance to experience a variety of activities and my planning will be taken from the children’s responses to these experiences. The children can also expect lots of singing; singing is a great tool for learning and encourages language development. Time outside is also essential, giving the children time to run around and time to explore. I am also within walking distance of several parks and a short drive away from Needham lakes and Baylham rare breeds farm. I will take the children to local groups providing a variety of opportunities to play, socialise, learn and enjoy different surroundings. I also have membership to the museum that holds a variety of groups and plenty of tractors and animals to see.
